Huawei did not want to end the year without presenting its terminal with an on-screen camera. After many leaks we finally have the Huawei Nova 4, a terminal with a triple rear camera with a Kirin 970 processor and whose main attraction is its on-screen camera. This feature makes its front almost a screen, without any type of notch or frame to house the front camera.
It seems that 2018 will be the last year in which we will see the hated notch in our terminals, the Huawei Nova 4 joins the reduced list of terminals with on-screen camera. In this list we find the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Honor View 20; but possibly soon we will have another member, the Lenovo Z5s. We tell you all the details about this new Huawei terminal.

Frontal made the most of
We have to say goodbye to the notch and hello to the on-screen camera. The Huawei Nova 4 dispenses with the notch and instead the front camera is on the screen. This results in a much more used front, now we do not have the notch to “steal” the screen. But instead we have a circle on our screen, this circle has a reduced size and specifically measures 4.5 millimeters compared to the 6.5 millimeters of the competition.
Its screen is 6.4 inches with a 2310 x 1080 resolution which gives rise to 398 pixels per inch. The panel technology is LCD, we could have expected it to be OLED, but for now Huawei reserves this technology for its higher-end terminals. The frames that surround this screen have been reduced to the maximum, but without subtracting functionality, in the upper frame we will find the headset for calls.
The rear of the Huawei Nova 4 reminds us of several terminals of the company such as the Huawei P20 Pro. On this rear we will find a triple camera located in the upper left, also accompanied by a dual-tone flash. Huawei has advanced that it will offer four different finishes: red, blue, white and black.
Kirin 970 and 8GB of RAM in the Huawei Nova 4
The power of the Huawei Nova 4, is at the height of other terminals in the same range, but with additions such as a greater amount of RAM. The processor of this terminal is manufactured by Huawei, it is the Kirin 970 that has a neural processing unit. This processor has eight cores, four of them have a speed of 2.4GHz and the other four of 1.8GHz, it is accompanied by 8GB of RAM. The capacity of its battery is 3,750 mAh, initially it should be enough for a day and a half with normal use, but if we fall short we can plug it in since it has fast charging.
On-screen camera and triple rear camera for the Huawei Nova 4
Its main attraction is the on-screen camera, this camera is 25 megapixels with a 2.0 focal length, this will allow us to take quality selfies. We anticipated the triple rear camera of the Huawei Nova 4, they are three sensors with different functionalities and megapixels. The main sensor has 20 megapixels and a 2.2 focal aperture, the secondary sensor is a 16 megapixel wide angle with 1.8 focal aperture and finally a 2 megapixel sensor with 2.2 focal length used to measure depth, and achieve a blur or bokeh effect. more realistic.
The aforementioned configuration would be found in the standard model, while the special model would have a 48 megapixel wide-angle lens. The sensor that I would mount would be the Sony IMX586 with a pixel size of 1.6 µm. Both models would have the same functionalities; RAW mode in the photographs for further editing, HDR Pro mode to achieve a greater dynamic range. In the recording section, both models can record at 4K, 1080p 60fps, 1080p 30fps and with slow motion at 960fps. In addition, they would have Artificial Intelligence to detect scenes when photographing.
Price and availability
The Huawei Nova 4 has been presented but the company has not yet given any indication as to whether it will reach the Spanish market. Their prices when doing the currency conversion, would be almost 400 euros for the normal model and almost 450 for the special model. At the moment we do not have more information, but as soon as we know that it arrives in Spain we will let you know.
