Next Friday, July 26, Huawei is scheduled to unveil the first member of the Mate family for this year. It will do so in China under the name Huawei Nova 5i Pro, Huawei Mate 30 Lite will be as it is known in Europe. In recent weeks rumors and leaks have not stopped appearing, which allow us to get a better idea of what the company has in store for us. Images have also appeared, so there are few secrets left to come to light.
The leaked images show a device very similar to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro on its back. We find a mobile with a camera module in its central part in a square shape, although this time one more sensor would have been added. The entire back is made of glass, with a brightness that changes in tone according to the way in which the light is given. The front part is still the protagonist. However, this time the Huawei Mate 30 Lite would have detached from its notch or notch, replacing it with a perforation in the panel to house the front camera. The frames are very small and the edges slightly rounded.
It does not seem that it is going to be a too thin phone (8.3 mm thick), but the latest information we have maintains that the screen-to-body ratio would be higher than 90%. It should be noted that the company has not included a fingerprint reader under the panel. It would still be in the back, as its predecessor the Mate 20 Lite has, just below the main camera. Yes, instead, we expect the Mate 30 Pro to include one on the panel itself.
Four cameras and power to spare
When it comes to screen size, the Mate 30 Lite is expected to feature a 6.26-inch IPS with Full HD + resolution. Inside the Huawei Mate 30 Lite there would be room for a Kirin 810 processor, an eight-core SoC (two working at 2.27 GHz + six working at 1.88 GHz), accompanied by a 6 or 8 GB RAM. For storage we would have 256 GB (expandable by using microSD type cards).
And what do we know about the photographic section? As we explained a few lines ago, the Mate 30 Lite would include four sensors formed by a 48 megapixel main one, which would be accompanied by three more of 8MP + 2MP + 2MP. All collected in a square module and seasoned with the company's Artificial Intelligence to get additional information and perfect the images. A 32-megapixel selfie sensor would be hidden within the perforation of the screen.
As for the rest of the features that we know thanks to the leaks, the Huawei Mate 30 Lite would also equip a 4,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charge and would be governed by Android 9 Pie under the company's personalization layer. As we say, the Huawei Mate 30 Lite will be announced in China next Friday, July 26, under the name Huawei Nova 5i Pro. We imagine that it will later have an official presentation in Europe, where it will be announced as Mate 30 Lite. In any case, we will be very aware of the novelties that are presented there, since they will be the same that will arrive at the terminal that will be marketed later in our continent.
