Huawei will create a performance mode with ai after the controversy of the benchmarks
Huawei has recently gone badly for manipulating the performance data of its devices. When submitting them to the 3DMark test, the firm used scripts that manipulated the benchmark results by assigning additional resources to different components of the smartphones. In this way, it was possible to greatly increase its performance by falsifying the data and giving greater than expected results.
After jumping the news, Huawei commented that the Honor Play, one of those accused of cheating in the benchmarks, uses a “smart resource scheduling mechanism”. This means that the terminal's own AI is smart enough to increase the power of the device by itself when it deems it appropriate. Precisely, this trick is the one that the company will take advantage of so that its phones can improve performance at specific times. And, after this scandal, Huawei has wanted to settle the issue and has announced that all its terminals from EMUI 9.0 will be able to access this new performance mode through AI to increase power.
Using it will allow you to have a more efficient mobile. So far the positive part. The problem, of course, is that it will directly affect autonomy. It is already known that the higher the performance, the higher the energy consumption. However, Huawei will include warnings for the user to activate it at specific times. For example, for applications with a higher load or games with heavy graphics.
At the moment, it is unknown when the final version of EMUI 9 will be available. This interface, based on Android 9 Pie, was officially presented at the IFA in Berlin. The first beta was released just a few days ago globally and is compatible with the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, Honor 10 and Honor View 10. We imagine that this high-performance mode will begin to be operational once the final version of EMUI 9 is announced. It will be at that moment when we will have to check how well the Huawei models that receive it perform, and if their performance test scores return to such high levels.
