The Asian company Huawei, in the hands of the telephone operator Orange, has presented the new Car Wi-Fi. We are talking about a device that allows you to have WiFi in the car, offering an Internet connection for all the occupants of the vehicle, whatever mobile device they are using (mobile phones, tablets, consoles, etc.). The Car Wi-Fi can be purchased in its free version for a starting price set at 100 euros.
The Car Wi-Fi in Huawei is a (compact relatively device 88 mm 59 x 49 x s, 50 grams weight) that connects directly to the power cigarette lighter the car, and need not be recharged at any time because it works directly from this power supply. The Car Wi-Fi is compatible with 4G LTE connectivity, which means that the connection that is shared through WiFi can reach a maximum download speed set at 150 Mbps.
This device allows up to ten users to be connected to the Internet simultaneously, and with its USB output it can even charge a device at the same time that the data connection is being used. The Car Wi-Fi is oriented both for domestic use, see for example a family car in which children will especially benefit the most from this device, as well as for professional use, where through this device it is possible to offer customers a added value during passenger transport.
But, for the Car Wi-Fi to work, it is necessary to have a card with an active data rate. In the case of Orange, users can purchase this device under two different rates: the Ballena rate, with 1 GigaByte of data for 8.95 euros per month, and the Ardilla rate, with 200 MegaBytes of data for three euros per month. In addition, Huawei has also announced that Orange will make this same device available to users under an installment payment of four euros per month.
Bands supported by this device include the 800/900 / 1800/2100 / 2600MHz in the case of the LTE, the 900 / 2100MHz in the case of the UMTS and 850/900/1800 / 1900MHz in the case of the GSM.
The Huawei Car Wi-Fi can be configured from a smartphone or a tablet, and allows managing the devices connected to this device (including an option to set a limit of data consumed per device, an option to disconnect devices and another option to consult the data consumed so far). Recall that Car Wi-Fi is available in stores for a price set at 100 euros for the free version, and for now it can be purchased through the Orange store ( tiendaonline.orange.es ) for a price of 90 eurosto which must be added the price of the monthly fee for the data rate.
