The Chinese brand Huawei has just put on sale the Honor 8 smartphone, a high-end terminal with 12 + 12 megapixel dual camera and Sony sensors. It also stands out for its performance, since it offers 4 GB of RAM and an eight-core processor. Regarding storage, there are two models available: one with 32 GB and the other with 64 GB (although it can be expanded with an external microSD card).
Huawei renews its Honor model
The new Honor 8 smartphone is presented as one more alternative among high-end terminals, and Huawei has decided to bet on an attractive design, dual camera and moderate price, also including certain specifications highly appreciated by consumers, such as the fingerprint reader..
The design is based mainly on glass together with thin aluminum frames, and at the back the glass has been arranged in different layers to give a shiny effect and to reflect light. These layers are also treated to avoid finger stains.
The screen is 5.2 inches with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and incorporates an eye protection system to avoid visual fatigue when spending a long time using the terminal.
The Honor 8 weighs 153 grams and measuring 145.5 x 71 x 7.5 mm. As a curiosity, it is worth noting that it incorporates an infrared port.
Among the technical features include dual main camera with two sensors megapixel Sony IMX268 12 designed to produce images more sharp and detailed. The camera app on the phone offers several options for focusing, based on varied details such as contrast, laser autofocus, or depth of field. For professional photographers or more knowledgeable about shooting, the camera has a fully manual mode, where you can configure all the details.
Main technical specifications
In addition to the dual camera, it is worth noting other features of the Honor 8, which fit quite well in the line of other high-end terminals. The smartphone has a Kirin 950 octa- core processor, a Mali T880 graphics card and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with an external microSD memory card.
The battery, meanwhile, is 3000 mAh. The terminal also has a fast charge function, which will allow to obtain up to 50% charge in just half an hour of connection to a power source.
In many respects, therefore, we find similarities with the Huawei P9 Lite, although in the case of the Honor 8 there are quite a few improvements.
On the back of the Honor 8 we find a multifunction fingerprint sensor: in addition to allowing the unlocking of the phone, it can be configured to use fingerprint recognition and automatically answer a call, or turn off the alarm, for example. The sensor recognizes operation in sequences, both with a click and with a double click, as well as a long press (all of this, of course, with the finger).
Price and launch
The Huawei Honor 8 has already been officially announced in the United States and is on sale in that country through the usual channels, but in Spain we still cannot access it in conventional stores. It can be purchased, however, in some Chinese online stores with shipping to Spain, for a price of about 400 euros (for the most basic model) or about 470 euros (for the one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage).
