Huawei continues to work to bring Android 9 to its older models. The company has confirmed that the latest to join the new version are the Mate 9, Mate 9 Porsche Design, Mate 9 Pro, P10, P10 Plus, Huawei Nova 2s, Honor V9 and Honor 9. All these devices are beginning to receive EMUI 9.0, or what is the same, Huawei's customization layer based on Android 9 Pie.
This is good news for the owners of all these phones, especially for those of the Mate 9 family. Keep in mind that in 2016, the year of its launch, they landed with EMUI 5.0, updating a year later, in 2017, to EMUI 8.0. Almost two years later they have been able to do the same to EMUI 9.0. Of course, it must be taken into account that the update has begun to be deployed in China, so it is not known when it will arrive in other markets where these models are marketed.
It is a matter of time, but the normal thing is that when the time comes you will receive a pop-up message on your terminal screen advising you of the availability. If the weeks go by and nothing arrives, you can check it yourself from the settings, system update section.
Compared to EMUI 8, EMUI 9 has 25.8% faster responsiveness, 12.9% more fluidity in operation, and application launch times that have been reduced by an average of 102 ms. It also comes with the deeply integrated Turbo 2.0 GPU to make gaming a more enjoyable experience. This, of course, is in addition to the improvements made by Google on Pie.
One of the most outstanding is a new adaptive battery system, capable of recognizing the usage patterns of the device in order to better manage autonomy. The point is that you always have enough energy to use applications or navigate. Also, Android 9 is faster, more intuitive and smarter. Little by little, Google's mobile platform is perfected so that the user has more functions in less time, and without trying too hard to achieve them.
