The new HTC U12 Life arrives on the market, a mobile that bets on the large screen (6 inches) and 3600 mAh battery. It is an interesting improvement over its predecessor - the HTC U11 Life - but… is there still life for HTC?
The brand resists and continues to launch products in an attempt to survive in the mobile market. In a sector that Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi and others have devoured, HTC would need to bet on innovation or price to offer something different to users.
The HTC U12 Life will go on sale in September for 350 euros.
HTC U12 Life, big screen and glass design
The new HTC U12 Life has a large screen (6 inches) and FHD + resolution: 1080 x 2160 pixels. The manufacturer has decided to bet on a design without notch and in 18: 9 format, with a density of 402 pixels per inch.
The design of the phone is made from a single piece of acrylic glass with a metallic design. It will be available in two colors: blue and purple.
The most interesting: storage and battery
Inside the phone we find an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, running at 1.8 GHz.
The most striking thing in this model is the available internal storage space, which is accompanied by two possible configurations of RAM.
Two models will go on sale: one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, and another version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It has not yet been confirmed if this second model will arrive in Spain.
In addition, if we run out of space, we can resort to the card tray, capable of working with microSD cards of up to 512 GB.
The mobile battery is 3600 mAh, a very interesting capacity to guarantee autonomy for a whole day (even with the 6-inch screen).
Dual camera with 4K video
HTC has also decided to improve the performance of its cameras, seeking to reach the public who love photographs and selfies. But there is one downside to mention: the camera lacks an optical image stabilization system.
In the back we find the main camera, dual, 16 + 5 megapixels. It is equipped with a dual-tone dual LED flash and is capable of recording videos in 4K quality.
In addition, that second lens includes a depth sensor that allows you to obtain photos with a blur effect ( bokeh ), an interesting mode for portraits.
For its part, the secondary camera - for selfies - is 13 megapixels and is equipped with an LED flash. In addition, it has HDR mode and panoramic selfie, and records video in FullHD quality.

Conclusions: is there still life for HTC on the market?
Without a doubt, the HTC U12 Life considerably improves the performance of the HTC U11 Life. Now: compared to the products of other brands, it is a mobile that does not offer any great innovation.
The mobile has a good battery, an interesting camera and a lot of storage capacity, but no extra or special element separates it from the competition.
Nor does the price stand out too much among other models in its category: the U12 Life stands at 350 euros, and can be purchased from September.
