HTC returns to the load with a phone that they have dubbed the HTC U11. These are not good times for the firm, although at no point has it lost hope and continues to try. The new result is not bad at all. We can say that the HTC U11 offers a very striking design and features that will not go unnoticed. For example, we are going to find the latest Qualcomm processor and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. This new terminal offers USB type C port, battery with fast charge and very interesting functions. Among them, we must highlight Alexa, the Amazon assistant, or Squeeze, a feature that we will explain later.

The new HTC phone comes at a delicate time for the company. We will see what happens in the next few months, and if he can make it come back. We cannot deny that it is a smartphone in which they have put special affection. We see it with the naked eye. The new HTC U11 arrives dressed in a chassis that combines aluminum and glass. The company has used what they call Liquid Surface, which gives it a very shiny look. It will be available in a wide range of colors: white, black, blue, silver and red. This is not too thick or heavy a device. It has a thickness of 7.9 millimeters and a weight of 169 grams.

Resistance and Alexa assistant

One of the things that most attracts the attention of the device is its wide resistance. The phone arrives with IP57 certification, so we will not have any problem in case of getting wet. In addition, its side sensors, located at the bottom, detect grip, pressure and touch. This means that the software is able to identify them, allowing us to do different things. HTC has included in its new HTC U11 the latest Qualcomm processor, Snapdragon 835. It is a chip manufactured in the 10 nanometer process and which will be accompanied, in this case, by a 4 GB RAM. The internal storage capacity is 64 GB, expandable by using MicroSD type cards. Apparently, in China it will be sold with 128 GB of space and 6 GB of RAM. HTC hasn't forgotten to incorporate BoomSound technology, so good sound is guaranteed too. To this must be added the noise cancellation in headphones (USonic Noise) for a cleaner and clearer sound.

An improved camera

We come to some of the most valued parts in high-end phones. The Asian firm has not forgotten about it and has added to its new HTC U11 a photographic section to match. The device has a 12 megapixel main sensor with an aperture f / 1.7. This sensor goes hand in hand with a dual-tone LED flash, which will allow us to take good photographs in dark environments. It also offers optical image stabilization. It is also necessary to comment that we will find a Pro mode with RAW support. As for video, the device is capable of recording in 4K. During the presentation, the company pointed out that the 3D audio recording technology “Acoustic focus” has been used, which will make the most of its four mics.

In turn, selfies will not be a problem. It has incorporated a 16 - megapixel front sensor. In this case with aperture f / 2.0 and an angle of 150 degrees. It boasts stabilization through an electronic system. This means that we will be able to take selfies at a fairly high quality.

Squeeze

Squeeze is the great novelty of the HTC U11. It is a system that takes advantage of the company's Edge Sense technology. As we said before, the side sensors will detect pressure, grip or touch to execute different actions. In this way, we can lower or raise the volume, capture an image, open a specific application, etc. This way of interacting will be the only one that we can use underwater in case of submerging the device. Therefore, it is perfect for taking a photo in the sea or pool.

As for the rest of the features, the HTC U11 also has USB type C, a fingerprint reader or Android 7.1. The terminal equips a 3,000 mAh battery with a fast charging system.

Price and availability

The HTC U11 is expected to be available globally in early June. Everything indicates that it will be placed on the market at a price of 750 euros. It is clear that with that value it will be very difficult to compete with other rival Huawei or Samsung models.
