HTC has cleared the doubts about which of its terminals will update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version in the coming months. The Taiwanese company is known for putting aside some of the models from its particular portfolio . And in this case, two fairly current equipment will be left out: HTC One V and HTC Desire C.
The Taiwanese company HTC continues with its policy of updates, in which many of its new equipment are pending, indefinitely, without any improvement. And it is that, while its current flagships, HTC One X and HTC One S, are pending to receive the update to Android 4.1 shortly, terminals with minor characteristics, they will not be able to receive the new Google platform.
The reason given by the company is that smartphones that have 512 MB of RAM "" or less "" are not able to run correctly the Jelly Bean version of the famous mobile platform. Therefore, models as recent as HTC One V or HTC Desire C will be stuck in the previous version: Android 4.0.
As it has been learned through the portal The Inquirer , HTC has spoken about it and commented on the following: “the company works to provide an excellent user experience on each terminal. For that reason, some of the teams will stick with their current version ”. In this way, it is once again known that the main reason for not being able to update some models is due to the correct functioning of HTC Sense, the personalized layer that HTC implants in each of its advanced mobiles.
But here the thing is not left: the users who have in their possession smartphones of the company with more RAM memory than the one that has been talking about, but belong to the range of last year 2011, are not within the update roadmap. HTC says they prioritize updates to the latest models released. And in the same way, to be able to provide a solution to operators in all markets that have terminals from the Asian company in their local offer.
Thus, HTC makes clear its intentions and the script to follow in the updates of its equipment. On the other hand, with this last information, terminals such as HTC Sensation or HTC Sensation XL will be some of those chosen to stay with their current version of the operating system, even having more than 512 MB of RAM.
Similarly, Android 4.2 is already on the street with the latest Google models, both tablet and smartphone. And some competing companies are already working to port this update to some of their models. This is the case of Samsung and its two flagships of the moment: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy S3. Both teams would be prepared to update to Android 4.2 at the beginning of next year 2013; meanwhile, the two smartphones have had Android 4.1 Jelly Bean inside them for a few weeks. And the Samsung Galaxy S3 awaits the long-awaited multi-window function next month.
