The tablet of Taiwanese HTC is starting to show itself. By the stores, we want to say, that by the Mobile World Congress 2011 the HTC Flyer was clearly seen. At least, in a German online store the first clues are already beginning to be had about the price that this device could reach.
And with the price, a surprise: the differentiation between a version with 3G and another without Internet access on mobile networks. In fact, what we have been able to find out through the German shopping portal CyberPort is that it is precisely the edition with Wi-Fi only connectivity that would go on sale in the first place, at a cost to the customer of 500 euros.
Further, in the product file presented by the German store, there is also another point that raised some doubts. And it is that despite the fact that the official file of the device provided by the manufacturer detailed that the HTC Flyer would initially go on sale with Android 2.2. FroYo, with a view to an update to Android 3.0 Honeycomb (as soon as the native interface of the house, HTC Sense, could be incorporated to the specific platform that Google has developed for tablets), the CyberPort store presents it with another system: Android 2.4 Gingerbread.
It is worth remembering at this point that Android 2.4 Gingerbread might be a version that little or nothing will distinguish itself from the current Android 2.3.3, with the peculiarity that this latter would be reserved in exclusive for Nexus One and Nexus S. Thus, it is confirmed that the HTC Flyer will debut with a mobile platform, with a view to being renewed with the version for tablets during a day not yet specified next spring.
As for the launch date, the website does not give information about it. Already last week, the German version of Amazon also exhibited an HTC Flyer in its full version (with 3G), pointing a price of 670 euros and, likewise, without specifying when it would go on sale.
