Glasses-free 3D are here. Tomorrow the Nintendo 3DS is officially released (although many already have it in their possession due to an advance in shipments), and LG seeks to get a good portion of those interested in this technology with its LG Optimus 3D. But it is not the only manufacturer that gets into this sarao. The Taiwanese HTC has also set its sights on what they call autostereoscopy and which is nothing more than that: watching videos and photos with the three-dimensional effect without accessories.
The mobile that we already told you about a few days ago is official. It is called HTC EVO 3D, and responding to the CTIA 2011 agenda, it was seen by the Taiwanese company at the fair held these days in Orlando (United States). It is a device with a 4.3-inch screen (the fashionable format for high-end models) that also allows you to take photos and videos in 3D, thanks to a dual adjustable lens system. There is no confirmed data on the launch and price, although the information may be expanded in the coming weeks.
In terms of performance, the HTC EVO 3D is not very different from the LG terminal. It has full connectivity, with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and HDMI, as well as 4G through the WiMax system.
The potential media allows recording videos in 1080p (with conventional perspective) and 720p (if it comes to making sequences 3D) and capture photos with high quality five megapixel. It also incorporates a secondary 1.3 megapixel sensor for video calls.
The HTC EVO 3D comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, duly adapted to the custom environment of the Taiwanese firm, called HTC Sense. What we do not know is if HTC has designed an extra for Sense that also allows us to see this attractive menu in three dimensions…
