2011 points strong for many manufacturers. Each one is positioning its line of business for this year, and in the case of the Taiwanese HTC, the market is going through fourth generation data connections that go at a higher speed than the current ones. These are phones with LTE system, known as one of the types of 4G networks. Just released the new year, HTC has presented at least three new devices designed for this protocol: the HTC Evo Shift 4G, the HTC Inspire 4G and the HTC Thunderbolt. All of these are also equipped with an Android platform(which will be the predominant note in this system during the present 2011).
Well, based on the forecasts that HTC itself manages for this year, the sales targets for the 4G mobile range will rise to ten million devices in the pockets of as many customers before the end of the year. To give us an idea, HTC intends that the 4G in its catalog reach in total the same sales rate that Samsung achieved in 2010 for its Samsung Galaxy S in seven months.
The fortune or not of HTC's plans is going to find some challenges (not to say “problems). To begin with, and realistically, the company concentrates the majority of its target audience in the United States. During CES 2011, there were several conferences on the penetration of LTE networks around the world, although at the moment the main market for HTC is located in the North American country. From DigiTimes, however, they certify that HTC is negotiating the arrival of its 4G phones to Europe through continental operators, as well asJapan.
In the time that 4G mobiles were sold during 2010, HTC's figures reached three and a half million devices. Of course, this amount was achieved with a moderately minority product, and with only two models of this line.
