August has arrived and with it the update of the HTC Desire mobile to the latest version of Android from Google: Gingerbread. As the company itself commented from its official website on different occasions, the manufacturer's developers were working hard to bring Android Gingerbread to the first model in the HTC Desire range.
Not surprisingly, this new version has been full of controversy. First it was commented that it was not going to be updated. A few hours later, the manufacturer rectified and said that Gingerbread would arrive at the terminal. Weeks later, he turned to inform all fans of page Facebook for HTC that the update would capada and many applications would remain in the pipeline because of the limited memory of mobile. Gingerbread for HTC Desire is out now, but what can the user find?
Well, as the Taiwanese manufacturer reports from Facebook, HTC Desire already has its own version of the Google icon system ready for download. But be careful, this is not suitable for all audiences, but it is pointed out on several occasions that it is an update intended for expert users and developers.
The new operating system is available to the public on the HTC developer page. Therefore, it must be downloaded to the computer and it does not arrive using the OTA ( Over-the-Air ) technique. Also, keep in mind that this new ROM misconfigures and erases the entire terminal. So much so, that HTC reports that both contacts, text messages (SMS), emails and all the user's personal information could be erased, in addition to losing the company's characteristic interface: HTC Sense.
Finally, the wallpapers, the Facebook application and other applications that the manufacturer has not indicated will be deleted from the terminal and if the customer needs them, they will find them on the same developer page. In short, a somewhat difficult update for the vast majority of users who are not familiar with advanced mobile customization.
