HP will return to the smartphone market in February with two large models. The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab are smartphones of six and seven inches respectively, specifically oriented to emerging markets (although it should not be ruled out that they will make the jump to other markets such as Spain in the coming months). One of the main attractions of these teams will be the possibility of controlling them through voice. The design has also been specially cared for, with quite fine shapes, a golden metallic line on the sides and a casing with a grainy look. We tell you all the details that have been revealed about the teams.
As expected, both the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and the HP Slate 7 VoiceTab will be in the entry-level range of the market with medium specs. One of its main workhorses will be advanced voice control, which will allow users to access a large number of functions without having to use their hands. Of course, we have not yet seen these controls in action. What has been seen is a sample of the design, with fine shapes below a centimeter thick and a quite attractive finish. Both its metallic gold stripe on the sides and its grained-looking casing are eye-catching from the start.
As we said at the beginning, the HP Slate 6 will have a 6-inch panel while the HP Slate 7 can be considered a seven-inch tablet. In fact, HP refers to these computers as voice tablets. In both cases we have a resolution HD, 1,280 x 720 pixels on the HP Slate 6 and 1,280 x 800 pixels on the HP Slate 7. In both cases, this resolution is far from the strongest releases of this field, but must serve to view the contents with a good level of detail. Inside we find a quad-core processor and1 GB of RAM to run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
Regarding its internal capacity, HP has chosen to use 16 GB in eMMc format. In case this capacity falls short, users can choose to expand the available space through a Micro SD memory of up to 32 GB. On the other hand, in the field of cameras, the American company has not wanted to disregard the attractiveness of this feature and has introduced a 5-megapixel rear lens and a 2- megapixel front lens on both teams . We would also like to highlight the presence at the front of the speakersof these teams, an optimal placement to better listen to music when we have the phablet on a surface. At the moment, HP only plans to launch these models in India, but has not ruled out their launch in other markets in the following months depending on the success they achieve.
