Honor, Huawei's second brand, continues to gain strength in the market thanks to a very clear philosophy: to offer high-end features at a more contained price. It seems that this year will not be the exception, since, according to leaked data, the company would already have the new Honor V9 ready. The terminal has already received the TENAA certification, which indicates that it is about to make its appearance on the market. A smartphone that would arrive ready to shake the high-end, thanks to its 5.7-inch screen, a powerful Huawei processor, lots of RAM, lots of internal storage, a dual-camera system and a high-capacity battery. What does the Honor V9 have in store for us? Let's find out.
We could say, without fear of being wrong, that the Honor 8 became one of the best smartphones of last year. A terminal that offers great technical characteristics and a glass design, for a lower price than the most cutting-edge devices. This year it seems that the Chinese company will update one of its star terminals with a new version. And it is that Huawei has already certified the Honor V9, a new terminal that improves the characteristics of the Honor V8 (name that the Honor 8 receives in China). Thanks to this certification we have known the possible characteristics that the Honor V9 will have.
Huawei's new terminal will include a 5.7-inch screen with a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, thus equating itself with the most powerful terminals on the market. And speaking of power, inside the Honor V9 we would find a HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor manufactured by Huawei. It is a SoC consisting of eight cores operating at a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz and a Mali M71 GPU. If confirmed, the Honor V9 would be compatible with Vulkan graphics and would be ready for Google Daydream. Accompanying this SoC we would have6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, although a version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage is not ruled out.
According to the leaked information, the battery would increase to 3,900 milliamps, an amount that would bring it very close to high-end terminals such as the Huawei Mate 9.
As for the photographic system, information filtered speaks of a main camera with dual goal of 12 + 2 megapixels. The system would arrive improved with larger pixels to capture more light and improve night photography. In the front we would have an 8 megapixel camera, quite common in the mid-range and even in the high range.
The Honor V9 software would consist of Android 7.0 Nougat installed as standard, along with Huawei's EMUI 5.0 customization layer.
The Honor V9 is expected to make its appearance at the end of February, possibly at MWC in Barcelona, and will be priced at around 400 euros. We will have to wait to find out if all this information is finally confirmed.
