- Better graphics quality and FPS stability thanks to Honor Gaming +
- Available only for the Honor View 20 (for now)
We are in the presentation of Honor in the city of Barcelona and he has just presented what is supposed to be the renewal of his GPU Turbo system. We are talking about Honor Gaming +, a new feature that in the words of its own president will help improve the stability of the frame rate per second (FPS) in games that support the Vulkan API for games. Also, Honor announces that the quality of the graphics of these will improve greatly compared to other models without the aforementioned characteristic of the brand.
Better graphics quality and FPS stability thanks to Honor Gaming +
The Honor news at this year's Mobile World Congress have come hand in hand with the software. The company has just released Gaming +, a new feature geared towards gamers that will help improve various aspects of Vulkan-compatible games on the Honor View 20.
Honor ensures that this feature will be able to improve the efficiency of the Kirin 980 processor up to 20.34%. Among the technical improvements introduced by the company is the expansion of the bandwidth limit of the buses that interconnect the CPU, RAM and GPU.
Regarding the latter, it has been possible to reduce the number of instructions sent to the processor to improve the FPS rate. This also helps to lighten the load on the processor and keep multiple processes on the different CPU cores simultaneously, which is reflected in better quality of graphics and 3D images generated by the GPU. In this regard, the manufacturer has taken out that the Honor View 20 is one of the few Android phones capable of maintaining a stable 60 FPS rate in Fortnite since the application allows it.
Available only for the Honor View 20 (for now)
The bad news is that this feature will be limited only to the Honor View 20. The president has stated that part of the improvements introduced are due to the GPU integrated in the Kirin 980 (specifically the Mali G76). We do not know if this feature will end up reaching the rest of the brand's phones, although it is most likely that it will be limited to the mobiles presented during this 2019 onwards.
No details have been given about its implementation in the View 20. Logic tells us that it will come via a dedicated update, just like GPU Turbo.
