Notch yes, but reduced to the maximum

In Honor they have opted for the solution for the notch that we saw the most at the end of last year. The Honor 8A features a teardrop-shaped notch that houses the front camera. This makes the body-screen ratio, according to Honor, 87%. And since we are talking about the screen, we have a 6.09-inch IPS panel and HD + resolution of 1,560 x 720 pixels. On-screen pixel density stays like this at 283 dpi.

Regarding the design, the screen has quite striking edges on the sides and, especially, on the bottom. The back cover is made of polycarbonate, although it includes metal frames to give consistency to the whole. The Honor 8A will be available in four colors: black, gold, red and blue.

To rule "the boat" the Honor 8A has a MediaTek Helio P35 processor. It is a chip manufactured in 12 nm and has eight cores, four Cortex A53 at 2.3 GHz and another four Cortex A53 at 1.8 GHz. Accompanying the processor we have 3 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage, depending on the version.

Two cameras are in charge of the photographic section, one in the front and one in the back. The Honor 8A's main camera has a 13-megapixel sensor and f / 1.8 aperture. It has a phase detection autofocus system, the possibility of shooting in HDR and an artificial intelligence system.

In the small front notch we find an 8 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture. There is no lack of the usual beauty touches, so present in Chinese terminals.

The technical set is completed by a 3,020 milliamp battery, which is ordered through a Micro USB connector. The Honor 8A also has FM radio (at least in China), WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Price and availability

In short, we are facing a simple terminal, but that offers a large screen and a guarantee processor to users who do not want to spend a lot of money. Also, it comes with Android 9 Pie along with EMUI 9.0.

The Honor 8A is launched tomorrow in China with a price, at the change, of just over 100 euros. We do not know if it will reach Europe.
