Honor, Huawei's sub-brand, has just announced the Honor 5, a mobile with moderate features, designed for those users who want to start in the world of telephony. The phone has a 5-inch screen, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, 2GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel main camera. Inside we also find a 2,200 mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system under EMUI. It will go on sale tomorrow, August 2, at a price of 599 yuan (80 euros at the exchange rate).
The Honor 5 has been officially unveiled. specially designed for people who make little use of their mobile or people who want to have their first contact in the sector. It has a simple design, very similar to other models from the manufacturer, with a thickness of just over 7 millimeters. Its screen has a size of 5 inches and is IPS type. The resolution is HD, which yields a density of 294 pixels per inch. Its exact measurements are as follows: 143.8 x 72 x 8.9 millimeters and its weight is 138 grams, making it quite thin and light. Inside this new model there is room for a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor running at 1.3GHz. This chip is accompanied by a Mali T-720 GPU and for 2 GB of RAM.
The Honor 5 arrives with an internal storage capacity of 16 GB, expandable through the use of a MicroSD card. Regarding the photographic section, the device has an 8 megapixel main camera with double LED flash to capture brighter images in low light conditions. The secondary camera is only 2 megapixels, a rather poor resolution for selfies or video calls. And what about the rest of the specs? The Honor 5 also stands out for being a Dual SIM device ,which means that it will allow us to insert two cards at the same time, for example one for work and one for personal use. Regarding the type of connections, it has a wide range of options: 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / A-GPS. For its part, it equips a 2,200 mAh battery without fast charging, which, according to company data, will be able to keep the device on for 165 hours of standby time and for 10 hours of conversation.
Another feature of this phone that differentiates it from other models is that it also comes with an additional physical button called Easy Key, which allows us to assign it to the execution of any application. It is also governed by Android 6.0 Marshmallow under EMUI. Regarding the price and availability, the Honor 5 will begin to be marketed from tomorrow, August 2, in its native country, China. Its price is only 80 euros to change, so we are sure that it will be the option of many users who want to have a new affordable phone.
