Yesterday it was OnePlus with its OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Today it is Honor, the Huawei-owned company, which boasts its two new flagships. We refer to the Honor 30, the Honor 30 Pro and the Honor 30 Pro +, three terminals that arrive as an economic version of the Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro + presented by the Chinese firm a few weeks ago.
And it is that beyond the design, the three Honor bets share much of the characteristics of their counterparts. Its greatest strength is the price, which is reduced by almost half in the cheapest version. Will they be enough to conquer the high-end market? We see it below.

Has anyone said Huawei P40 Pro?
It is a fact, the new Honor flagships are very similar to Huawei's bet. The front part, made up of a 6.53 and 6.58-inch panel with OLED technology and Full HD + resolution, has a double notch that now houses two cameras.
As usual, the screen refresh rate becomes 90 Hz in the case of the Honor 30 Pro +. The other versions are kept at 60 Hz. Likewise, the panel has a slight curvature that accompanies the two sides of the device, something that it has inherited directly from the Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro +. It also inherits the fingerprint sensor, which for the first time in the history of Honor happens to be located under the screen.
Regarding the rear, the appearance of the two terminals is practically identical. Same camera module - saving the distances - and a glass construction in a matt look and polygonal colors. It is worth noting the integration of two speakers on the front of the models with a larger diagonal, two speakers that also have stereo sound.
Without Google applications but with the latest from the brand
With the launch of the Honor 30, 3rd Pro and 30 Pro Plus, the company has introduced a new high-end processor, the Kirin 985. This processor is located halfway between the Kirin 990 of the P40 and the Kirin 980 of the P30 and is integrated into the most economical model. The Honor 30 and 30 Pro + have the Kirin 990, which allows them to have next-generation 5G SA and NSA networks. The Honor 30, for its part, is not compatible with 5G networks.
They are accompanied by 6 and 8 GB of RAM in the case of the Honor 30 and 8 and 12 GB in the case of the 30 Pro and 30 Pro +. All three have two storage options of 128 and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 type, as well as the usual string of connections: WiFi 6, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1 and so on. The battery, by the way, is 4,000 mAh in the larger models, with a charging system behind it of 40 W wired and 27 W wireless. The Honor 30 does not have wireless charging, although it does have the same fast charge as its older brothers.
And what about the software? Once again the devices lack Google certification. This implies that none of the terminals will have the applications of the North American giant. The good news is that both have Android 10 under Magic UI 3.1. And of course, both benefit from Huawei's services to supply Google applications.
Photographic section that inherits from the Huawei P40 Pro
Honor has bet everything on the cameras with its flagships, at least on the more advanced models. And the company has hardly given details of the Honor 30 in regards to the photographic section. If we focus on the Pro and Pro Plus model, the terminals use a 50 and 40 megapixel main camera.
The Pro + 's 50-megapixel sensor is no less than 1.28 inches. In fact, the sensor shares its specifications with the main sensor of the P40 Pro Plus, because for practical purposes, it is the same Ultravision IMX700 sensor that we find in the Huawei model. Predictably, it will also inherit part of the video recording novelties, as well as the Huawei XD Fusion Engine algorithm that the company launched to improve the detail of the photographs.
Regarding the rest of the lenses, the two terminals are accompanied by a 16 megapixel ultra- wide angle camera, with a focal aperture f / 2.2 and a 17-millimeter equivalent lens. Its third sensor, 8 megapixels, has a telephoto lens that is equivalent to a 125-millimeter lens. It also inherits the zoom of the Huawei P40 Pro, with up to 10 hybrid and 50 digital magnifications. Little is known about the optical zoom, although everything indicates that it has up to 5 increases, a figure never before seen in a firm's phone.
If we move to the front, the main sensor of both is 32 megapixels, with a focal aperture f / 2.2 and an angular lens that is equivalent to a 26 millimeter lens. We only know of the secondary sensor that it has a resolution of 8 megapixels. Everything indicates that it has a wide-angle lens, although Honor has not given much information about it.
Price and availability of the Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro and Honor 30 Pro Plus
We arrive at what is probably the most attractive point of Honor's bet, the price. At the moment, the availability of all three devices is limited to China only. Predictably, they will arrive in Spain in the coming weeks at a price slightly higher than the price indicated in the country of origin.
- Honor 30 with 6 128 GB: about 390 euros to change.
- Honor 30 with 8 128 GB: about 420 euros to change.
- Honor 30 with 8 and 128 GB: about 450 euros to change.
- Honor 30 Pro with 8 and 128 GB: about 520 euros to change.
- Honor 30 Pro with 8 and 256 GB: about 560 euros to change.
- Honor 30 Pro + with 8 and 256 GB: about 650 euros to change.
- Honor 30 Pro + 12 and 256 GB: about 700 euros to change.
As soon as the brand confirms the price and availability of the different versions in Spain, we will update the article with all the information about it.
