The annual conference for Google developers, the traditional Google I / O, started yesterday. As is usual, the company began by providing data on the situation of its Android platform worldwide. According to its figures, there are already two billion active users every month around the world, which is crowned as the most used mobile operating system of the moment.
These are not the only data they revealed. Google also gave other figures of interest. For example, Google Drive exceeded 800 million users or Google Photos exceeded the barrier of 500 million users. It is also important to note that Google Maps and YouTube have already passed the barrier of one billion users. As for one of its new services, Google Assistant, things are not bad either. There are currently more than 100 million computers that have it installed.
The family grows
Android continues its evolution. This is demonstrated by the new version announced yesterday at Google I / O. The company gave the public present the first brushstrokes of Android O, a system that is expected to be more fluid and intuitive. We will find improvements in productivity with a new feature called Picture-in-Picture. Thanks to it we can add small floating windows. Also, Android O will also have a new feature dubbed Vitals. This feature will allow you to optimize your device's battery, as well as performance or storage.
As if this were not enough, Google has announced a tool for developers that will allow them to know if their application has a problem (for example, if it is down). It is now possible to test Android O in beta form on supported Pixel or Nexus devices.
