Google I / O, Google's developer conference, starts with Hardware. It's strange that the Mountain View company announces new devices, but the Pixel 3a and 3a XL couldn't wait any longer. These new inexpensive devices that arrive with a design very similar to the current Pixel 3, a single main camera and two different screen sizes, are already official.
The Google Pixel 3a and 3a XL are built in polycarbonate, the truth is that, if we remove the difference between manufacturing, the design is very similar to the current Google Pixel, the company's flagship. The back has a double finish between the upper and lower area. At the top is the main camera, while in the center we find the fingerprint reader.
On the front we do see differences with respect to the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. The company has decided not to add a notch to any of the models, not even the Pixel 3a XL. Both terminals have frames in the upper and lower area, and although they are somewhat more pronounced than usual, they have an 18: 9 format. The upper part houses the selfie camera, a speaker for calls and sensors. On the chin there is nothing, since the buttons are directly on the screen.

The Google Pixel 3a is the cheapest. Also the one with the most basic technical specifications. On the one hand, we find a 5.6-inch OLED panel with Full HD + resolution. It is accompanied by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor, a mid-range chip and eight cores that is combined with 4 GB of RAM. As for storage, we stick with 64GB. All this with a range of 3,000 mAh.
In the case of the XL model, its screen grows to 6 inches. Here we also continue with a Full HD + resolution and a format of 18: 9. The processor is the same, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670. The RAM and storage are maintained with a single configuration of 4 GB and 64 GB. By having a larger screen, its autonomy grows to 3,700 mAh.
The main camera is 12.2 megapixels, it is a Dual Pixel sensor that will allow us to take sharper photos and with the popular Google blur effect, despite not having a double camera. The Google camera app will take care of all this. Also to apply the night mode, which improves photographs in low light conditions.
Price and availability
The Google Pixel 3a will be priced at $ 400. It will be the cheapest terminal for the company. The XL model will cost 480 euros. This device arrives in Spain starting today, May 7.
