It was not more than a month since the Xiaomi Mi A3 was officially presented to the public and the terminal is already compatible with the Google Camera. As we explained in this other article, the Google Camera application greatly improves the quality of the photos taken with the phone in question thanks to Google processing and the different modes it incorporates (Night Shift, portrait mode…). Now the application is compatible with the latest Xiaomi model launched on the market thanks to a well-known Portuguese developer, and we can install the APK without root or complex processes.
How to install the Google Camera APK on the Xiaomi Mi A3
Not a week has elapsed since the official sale of the Mi A3 and from XDA a development of the Google Camera has already been launched for the latest launch of the Chinese brand. The author of the development is nothing more than Celso Azevedo, a developer known for developing many versions of Google Cam for devices with the latest versions of Android.
To install the APK of the Google Camera on the Xiaomi Mi A3, the first thing we will have to do is download the file in question from Celso Azevedo's page and activate the Install applications from unknown sources box, an option that we can find in Android Settings; more specifically in the Security section.
Then, we will install it as if it were a normal application et voilà , we can now make use of all its functions, or almost all. And it is that from the author's page it is indicated that we will have to deactivate the Live Photos so that the application in question does not generate forced closures, at least for the moment. Later, it is expected that the problems related to the aforementioned function will be solved in future updates of the application.
It should also be mentioned that, like the rest of the versions of the application, Google Camera is not compatible with secondary sensors. Its use, in fact, is limited to that of the main camera, so we will not be able to use the camera with a wide angle lens. Neither of the depth camera to take pictures in portrait mode.
