Gmail is updated, this time for users who have mobile phones with the Android 2.2 operating system, a version known familiarly as Froyo. The Gmail update for this operating system has been published in the Android Market, the popular Google application store, so that users can download it and update their email client. The problem with this update is that there are still many who do not have the Froyo version installed on their terminals. In fact, we learned just yesterday that phones like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 are still waiting for theversion 2.1, also called Éclair.
There are several interesting changes to highlight in this new version of Gmail for Android 2.2. Although many have not yet been able to test it, some novelties are already well evident. The first has to do with email management and how agile it can be from now on to do it through an Android mobile phone. And it is that from this update, the buttons that lead us to write a message, create a new one, forward it, etc., will be available in a fixed bar, so that they will remain active even if we read the messages and move them from above down.
But there are more interesting things. Searching for the most important messages among an infinite list has always been overwhelming. With the new version of Gmail, we can highlight the most relevant emails and position them at the top so that it is easier for us to find them. The same happens with the conversations or chain messages of the mail. From now on they will be viewable, just as they are in the Gmail version for our desktop computer.
Those who want to purchase the new version will have to access the Android Market and download it for free.
