Gionee is yet another Chinese company that is betting on the manufacture of good-performance smartphones at moderate prices to compete strongly in the international mobile market. Its new terminals, the Gionee S9 and the Gionee S9T, will be the first of the company to join the trend of the dual rear camera.
As for the rest of the features, it should be noted that they have a 5.5-inch screen, come standard with Android 6 Marshmallow and work with eight-core processors and 4 GB of RAM.
As we detail below, these two terminals are almost identical, save for a difference in processor speed.
Gionee S9 features
The Gionee S9 is a smartphone equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS screen and Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 2.5D curved glass. It has an eight-core processor that reaches up to 1.8 GHz and a RAM of 4 GB. The available internal storage space is 64 GB, but can be expanded with an external microSD card up to 128 GB.
The phone is DualSIM, although "" as in many models on the market "" has a specific slot for the microSD card. This means that you will have to choose between two different configurations: two SIM cards at the same time, or one SIM and an external microSD card.
The smartphone Gionee S9 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and customization layer Friend OS 3.2 of Gionee, and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor.
The main (rear) camera is dual, with 13 megapixel + 5 megapixel sensors, and with dual dual-tone flash. To get good selfies, the front camera is 13 megapixels.
In terms of dimensions, the terminal measures 154.2 mm long x 76.4 mm wide x 7.4 mm thick, and weighs 166.5 grams. The built-in battery is 3,000 mAh.
Gionee S9T features
As we have already mentioned, the technical specifications of the Gionee S9T are practically the same as those of the Gionee S9: the phone is also DualSIM, with the same internal storage and RAM configurations, Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the Amigo OS customization layer. 3.2 and the fingerprint sensor.
Also the main camera is dual 13 megapixels + 5 megapixels and dual dual tone LED flash, while the front one is 13 megapixels.
The only difference is in the processor: although it is also eight-core, the speed achieved is 2 GHz, compared to the 1.8 GHz of the Gionee S9. This also translates into a slight increase in weight (200.8 grams versus 166.5 grams for the S9), but the dimensions are the same and the 3,000 mAh battery is preserved.
Availability and prices
Both the Gionee S9 and Gionee S9T have just passed TENAA certification tests and will be released soon. They will be available in black, silver or gold, and the exact release dates or their market prices are not yet known.
