We have already said it on more than a few occasions, and with good reason: the aesthetics of smartphones are not only fed by the designers in charge of developing the appearance of each terminal, but by the point with which the user wants to customize the appearance of the device. And for this, nothing better than a case that dresses and protects the phone in more or less equal parts. In this sense, Belkin is recognized as one of the most popular manufacturers of covers for mobile devices, and will be precisely in charge of imposing on the iPhone and iPod Touch a fun and constructive point of color thanks to Lego.
We say this because the manufacturer of accessories for technological terminals and the well-known toy company have signed an agreement that intends to bind both for a long period in order to develop covers and housings for iOS devices that exploit the popular image of Lego blocks. It will be from next summer when we see the first results of this agreement in the stores, if it has been clear for the moment how many ranges of accessories will be used for the premiere in the association between both companies.
At the moment, the firm assumes that the designs made by Belkin based on the Lego image will be made for iPhone phones and iPod Touch players, although, according to sources from the case manufacturer, “although there are plans for expansion to other platforms along the way. throughout the collaboration ”, with which we could also see very diverse accessories for some of the iPad generations or even for laptops, although both possibilities are not supported by any type of security at the moment.
To celebrate the agreement, from Belkin they have shown a couple of recreations of what the new iPhone and iPod Touch cases would look like that we could see in a few months. In both cases, they would be housings that are crimped to the sides of the device, leaving free space for the camera. One has a more rounded appearance, reserving a centered rectangle at the back to install a surface with the iconic blocks. The other would be more rectilinear, and would dedicate the entire rear part of the casing to cover with the texture described, instead of reserving, as in the previous case, a small space.
It is however not the first option we have known to customize the Apple phone to Lego mode. There are many solutions that over the years we have seen exploiting the iconic image of Lego in cases and other accessories for iPhone, without in all cases having been official accessories or having the backing of the Danish company. In this case, as we say, the covers that Belkin develops and that we will see from next summer will have the approval of Lego.
