The French company Fnac joins the smartphone bandwagon, more specifically the new sector that has been dubbed a phablet that is halfway between an advanced mobile and a touch tablet. His first foray is called Fnac Phablet 4.5 and will go on sale on March 11 at a price of 180 euros in free format.
Fnac is already famous for launching different consumer electronics products under its own label. Currently, the user can get hold of e-book readers as well as touch tablets based on Google, Android icons. But not content with it, the French multinational also wants to enter the mobile telephony sector. And for this it presents its first hybrid called Fnac Phablet 4.5.
As the name suggests, this computer has a multi - touch screen 4.5 inch diagonal achieving maximum resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Likewise, another of the main characteristics of this Fnac Phablet 4.5 is that it has a double SIM card slot, thus being able to carry two phone numbers in a single device. For example: the professional and private number. Of course, according to the company, only one of the slots will allow you to carry a data rate; the other card can only use the call service.
Meanwhile, in the power and memory part, this hybrid has a dual-core processor with a working frequency of one GHz and that will work together with a GigaByte RAM to make operation more fluid. On the other hand, its internal storage space has a space of four GB that can be increased with the use of MicroSD cards of up to 32 GB more or, use the different Internet-based services, which always offer free space when the user is logged.
As for the photographic part, the Fnac Phablet 4.5 has two cameras: a front one to make video calls and with a VGA sensor (640 x 480 pixels), while the main rear camera will reach eight megapixels of resolution, accompanied by Flash Integrated LED type for the darkest scenes and will allow you to record videos.
Now the Fnac Phablet 4.5 has many connections, both with and without cables. First of all, and as usual, this large smartphone has a MicroUSB port with which to charge its 1,600-milliamp battery as well as to synchronize the data stored in its memory with a computer. Nor can the presence of a standard 3.5 mm audio output be missing where you can connect headphones. And it is that this equipment is capable of functioning as a portable music player.
Meanwhile, in the part of wireless connections, the first thing to know is that it is compatible with both high-speed WiFi points and next-generation 3G mobile networks to be able to browse Internet pages from anywhere. There is also Bluetooth technology with which you can share files with other computers or a GPS receiver with which you can guide yourself on roads or streets.
Finally, the mobile platform chosen for this Fnac Phablet 4.5 is Google's Android. And more specifically the Android 4.0 version aka Ice Cream Sandwich . On the other hand, the terminal will have a price of 180 euros in free format and will be available in white from next March 11.
