Facebook Places was just around the corner. And here it is. The social network Facebook has just introduced Facebook Places, a service very similar to Foursquare that allows us to geolocate our position on the map so that our friends can see it, but also to know where our relatives are. Until now, Facebook Places was only available to mobile phone users in the United States. The fact is that from today, Facebook users in Spain can already use Facebook Places in our country. The most curious thing is that at the moment, the service is only available in Spain and for RIM terminals.
The fact is that Blackberry already has a new version that incorporates a direct access to Facebook Places. We will find the icon of this service in the upper right part of the Facebook menu, which will help us to quickly and easily access this service so similar to Foursquare. By clicking on this option, we will see that a list of nearby places where we could be opens before our eyes. Just click on the site or create a new place so that our friends can see where we are.
And although Facebook Places should work through iPhone and Android devices, for now we can say that the service only works by updating Blackberry. Through this system, you can create your own sites (if they are not created on the map) so that the rest of the contacts you have on Facebook can be aware of it. In this way, you can give them the news that you are in a specific restaurant in the city or that you are visiting a store together with other contacts that you may have in common. We are waiting for them to be publishedupdates for iPhone and Android with Facebook Places inside.
