Although Xiaomi officially operates in Spain, some models of the company limit their distribution to China, India and some countries in Asia. To this is added that the Chinese versions of Xiaomi mobiles are, in general, cheaper than the versions that are distributed in Europe. For this reason, many users choose to resort to third-party stores, such as AliExpress, Gearbest or Banggood.
The doubt when buying a mobile through these routes arises around whether it has the 800 band, a band that is necessary for the device to have the maximum 4G coverage. Which Xiaomi phones really have the 800 band? We see it below.

What is the 800 band and why is it so important in a mobile with 4G
The 800 band, popularly known as the 800 MHz band, is part of the conglomerate of frequencies that make 4G work in Spain.
Currently, the frequencies with which Movistar, Vodafone and Orange operate are those that correspond to 800, 1,500, 1,800 and 2,600 MHz. Of the four, the most important bands are 1,800 and 2,600 MHz. After all, they are the bands that provide 4G in a fairly high percentage of territory. Does this mean that the 800 band is not important?
Nothing is further from reality. Currently the aforementioned frequency provides Internet to rural areas and areas with difficult access. It is also the network most used by our mobile phone inside buildings, as it more easily penetrates walls, walls and solid surfaces in general.
The conclusion is clear: not having the 800 band on a mobile means losing coverage in the aforementioned situations, not to mention the energy expenditure that is obtained when connecting to bands with a higher working frequency.
Can the 800 band be activated on Xiaomi?
The truth is that no. It is a feature that depends entirely on the hardware of the computer, therefore, its activation through software is impossible even if we have root .
