All mobile phones have not yet been updated to Android 9 Pie and Xiaomi has just confirmed the compatibility of several of its models to Android Q 10, the latest version of the green android operating system. It was this morning when the company itself confirmed, through a post on the MIUI forums, the update to Android Q on several of its mid-range and high-end phones. The list, although provisional for the moment, leaves us with a bleak future in terms of software updates.
Xiaomi phones that will update to Android Q 10
There are only three months left for Android Q to officially reach all compatible mobiles.
Currently the latest version of the system is in its fourth beta, and today Huawei is the only brand that has confirmed the compatibility of its phones with Android Q. You can see the full list in the article article that we have just linked.
Now it is Xiaomi that has confirmed the update to several of its models presented in both 2018 and 2019. No mobile phones presented in 2017 at the moment.
Specifically, the Xiaomi phones that are going to update to Android Q are the following:
- Redmi Note 7
- Redmi Note 7 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 9
- Xiaomi Mi 9 SE
- Xiaomi Mi 8
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition
- Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S
- Xiaomi Mi MIX 3
- Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G
- Redmi K20 Pro
- Redmi K20
As we mentioned at the beginning of the post, the list is provisional, so it is not ruled out that new models will be added in future updates.
Will you update my Xiaomi to Android Q?
The question is now unavoidable. Although today we cannot assure anything, we can make several forecasts based on the models compatible with Android Q.
First of all, all mobiles that have the Snapdragon 660 processor should receive the update to Android Q without major problem. Also mobiles that have the Snapdragon 845, 730 and 710 processor.
What about the rest of mobiles? Most likely, they will run out of the latest Android candy, with the exception of Android One compatible models and some phones with Snapdragon 400 series processors. Other phones with lower processors or Mediatek signature will not receive, with total security, Android Q, at least officially.
