If we go back to the past and remember the mobiles we used at that time, a simple Samsung Galaxy A10 of now would seem the strangest mobile in the world. Over time we have got used to mobiles with three or four cameras, increasingly flat and infinite screens without frames, virtual assistants, apps of all kinds or even artificial intelligence to improve captures.
However, this year we have witnessed more strange mobiles, which some consider even strange. Devices that are out of the ordinary today, either because of the concept they promise, because of their design, or because of the technologies they include. Among them we can highlight the Nokia 9 Pure View, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha or the Energizer Power Max P8100S, with an amazing 10,000 mAh battery. If you want to know some of the strangest equipment that 2019 has left us, do not stop reading. Are these.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha
This mobile is one of the most original and extravagant of the year. Not only because of its triple camera with a 108 megapixel main sensor, but also because of its screen, dubbed by the company as "4D surrounded curve display". Basically this extends towards the back of the phone, transforming into a panel in its entirety. Its curved edges form a 90º angle, which means that its sides are easily visible when fully tilted. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha has also been manufactured with a titanium alloy and glass envelope. Also, the rear strip where the camera is housed is ceramic. Therefore, we can say that its appearance is really different from other mobiles seen throughout this 2019.
On the other hand, it should be noted that the front sensor is integrated into the AMOLED panel itself that surrounds all the equipment, just behind it. Another of its virtues is a haptic motor, which makes the mobile vibrate when touching the screen. In this way, it is possible to emulate the presence of a physical keyboard when we are typing. For now, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha is sold only in China at a price of 2,560 euros.
Nokia 9 Pure View
It was presented at the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as the mobile of the five cameras. And, indeed, the Nokia 9 Pure View includes five sensors arranged in a very peculiar way, forming a kind of wheel that leaves no one indifferent when looking at its rear. However, despite the fact that at first we may think that they deal with different functions, this is not the case. The cameras arrive with the same aperture and resolution. Their differences are the inclusion of two RGB sensors, while the other three take care of capturing the information in black and white.
The five cameras have a resolution of 12 megapixels with a 1.82 focal aperture. For selfies we have another 20 megapixel on the front. Other features of this Nokia 9 Pure View are a 5.99-inch pOLED panel with QHD + resolution, Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 GB of RAM, Android One 9.0 Pie, or a 3,320 mAh battery, wireless charging, although all this no longer draws so much attention. The Nokia 9 can be purchased through Amazon at a price of 570 euros.
Energizer Power Max P8100S
Energizer quietly unveiled its foldable phone, the Power Max P8100S, at MWC. The original thing about this model is that it has two screens: a 6-inch screen with Full HD + resolution on the outside and an 8.1-inch screen with Full HD + resolution on the inside. This makes it different or weird because its concept is very different from other current folding phones such as the Huawei Mate X, which includes a single 8-inch panel that turns into two small ones when folded.
Its design is quite peculiar and not only because of this double panel. We must also highlight the hinge that separates them, which reminds us a lot of an accordion. On the other hand, this model equips a 10,000 mAh battery. But if this capacity surprises you, next to it the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop was unveiled, also quite original, with a 18,000 mAh battery and a thickness of 30 millimeters. The device will go on sale on a date yet to be determined at a price of 900 euros.
BlackView Max 1
Although there are already other mobiles with an integrated projector, what makes the BlackView Max 1 original or strange is that it has managed to improve this concept to the benefit of many interested parties. The terminal comes with a pico projector with MEMS technology and FullHD + resolution, which allows transmitting in good quality what is seen on the mobile on a smooth wall. For this, the company has worked a lot on the shine. In fact, in an environment with adequate lighting you can enjoy an experience comparable to that of any 4K LCD TV.
The projector in the BlackView Max 1 promises a 200-inch projection with no loss of quality, even aimed at a sloping ceiling. It also offers fast autofocus in just 1 second, remote control to control projection from a distance or a battery of up to 5 hours of video projection. You can get this model in Spain by paying 360 euros for the version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
Nubia Alpha
Finally, another of the rare mobiles that we have known this 2019 is the Nubia Alpha. It is so rare that it cannot be considered almost mobile. You will wonder why this is due. Specifically, because it has the shape of a watch or bracelet with a flexible panel that surrounds the wrist. His concept is so different that we could not stop including him in our list. On the Nubia Alpha, the screen does not go around the wrist, although it does cover approximately 180º of its circumference. In its central part there are two sides that stand out more than normal. In one of them is the 5 megapixel selfie camera with f / 2.2 aperture. In the other, the fingerprint sensor. It also includes two buttons on one of its sides to manage its different functions.
Basically, we can say that it is a phone as such, because it has a version with eSIM, which allows you to connect a virtual SIM to make and receive calls and connect to the Internet through 4G, although it is closer to being a smartwatch due to its shape and for the classic smart watch functions: sleep analysis, step counter, exercise routines… The Nubia Alpha also equips a 500 mAh battery (with fast charge), which according to the manufacturer will allow a range of 1 or 2 days. It is expected to land in Europe before the end of the year at a price of 550 euros (with eSIM).
