The presentation of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro has already been effective. As every year, Apple is a specialist in not giving specific details about its technical characteristics. And it is that beyond the processor model, the screen technology or the megapixels of the cameras, the data about their technical specifications are a mystery to the inexperienced eye. This time we have compiled several of the most important data about the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro to unravel all its secrets in detail.

Fast charge? Only if you have a compatible charger
One of the star features of the new generation of iPhone is based on the integration of a fast charging system compatible with Apple chargers. Specifically, this system supports peaks of up to 18 W in all those chargers compatible with the new iPhone 11 and 11 Pro… The problem is that, once again, the company from the bitten apple does not include chargers compatible with this charge, at least on the iPhone 11.
As announced by Apple on the official iPhone website, the most basic model in the range does not have an 18 W charger. Failing that, a charger of only 5 W is included, that is, the same capacity as the charger of an iPhone 4, a model presented today almost 10 years ago. This affects the total charging time, which can last up to 3 hours.
Lightning connection remains
No USB type C. The eleventh edition of iPhone still has a Lightning connection in its three iPhone 11 models, which greatly limits the transfer rate and its connection possibilities.
The good news is that we have USB type C at one end, so that we can connect mobile phones to a MacBook Pro without having to use an external adapter.
Same screen resolution as iPhone 4
So is. Against all odds, the iPhone 11 has the same resolution as its predecessor, the iPhone XR. Also the iPhone 4 of 10 years ago had the same resolution, or rather, the same density of pixels per inch.
Specifically, the iPhone 11 has 326 pixels per inch and a resolution of 1,792 x 828 pixels (HD +) on a 6.1-inch IPS LCD panel. If we look at the iPhone 11 Pro, they opt for AMOLED panels with 2,436 x 1,125 pixels resolution, that is, Full HD +.
More battery, much more battery
For the first time in Apple's history, the company has announced a significant improvement in terms of autonomy. The manufacturer's data speaks of up to 5 more hours in the case of the iPhone 11 Pro Max versus the XS Max, 4 in the case of the iPhone 11 Pro versus the XS and 1 in the case of the iPhone 11 versus the XR. But, what is the real difference from previous iterations?
Although the company has not disclosed the actual capacity of the battery, the various leaks speak of the following figures:
- iPhone 11: 3,110 mAh vs. iPhone XR's 2,940 mAh (5% improvement)
- iPhone 11 Pro: 3,050 mAh vs. iPhone XS 2,660 mAh (14% improvement)
- iPhone 11 Pro Max: 3,970 mAh vs. iPhone XS Max 3,180 mAh (24% improvement)
To this must be added the improvement in the efficiency of the Apple A13 Bionic integrated in the three devices, a processor that improves the 7 nanometers of the A12 Bionic of 2018.
At the cost of more thickness
The improvement in battery comes at the cost of sacrificing other aspects, such as the design. The new generation of iPhone not only gains in thickness, but also in weight, in some cases exceeding 220 grams.
- iPhone 11: 8.3 millimeters and 194 grams versus 8.3 millimeters and 194 grams in front of the iPhone XR.
- iPhone 11 Pro: 8.1 millimeters and 188 grams compared to 7.7 millimeters and 177 grams for the iPhone XS.
- iPhone 11 Pro Max: 8.1 millimeters and 226 grams compared to 7.7 millimeters and 208 grams for the iPhone XS Max.
And the 3D Touch
The disappearance of 3D has seated most iPhone users like a jug of cold water. On this occasion, the company has decided to get rid of this feature by removing the Haptic Engine module that simulated the pulsation and vibration of the screen by pressing the panel for several seconds.
Now that place is occupied by a battery with a higher capacity, except for the iPhone 11, where the capacity is practically the same as its predecessor model.
Portrait mode on sensor with telephoto lens
A feature that has been asking for since the presentation of the iPhone 7. Finally, the company decides to implement portrait mode in the secondary sensor of the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max with a telephoto lens.
Unfortunately, the iPhone 11 lacks an extended portrait mode, using only one lens (the second sensor has a wide angle lens). The good news is that it is now compatible with animals, such as dogs, cats and any other pets that accompany us.
And recording in 4K at 60 FPS on the front camera
So is. The 12 megapixel front camera on all three iPhone models is capable of capturing 4K video at 60 FPS. Also at 30 and 24 FPS if we prefer to make a cinematographic recording.
IP68 protection for iPhone 11
IP68 protection against water and dust reaches all Apple phones. If we remember, the iPhone XR presented along with the iPhone XS and XS Max had IP67 protection. Now both the iPhone 11 and the Pro models have the IP68 standard (specifically IUP68), which supports water immersions of up to 2 meters deep in the case of the iPhone 11 and up to 4 meters in the case of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max for half an hour, at least theoretically.
More RAM
The new generation represents, finally, a quantitative leap when it comes to RAM memory.
And it is that although the company has not confirmed the different capacities of RAM memory of its devices, some leaks have already revealed what we will find on September 20, the day on which the three models will go on sale.
- iPhone 11: 4 GB of RAM compared to 3 GB of the iPhone XR
- iPhone 11 Pro: 4 GB of RAM compared to 4 GB of the iPhone XS
- iPhone 11 Pro Max: 4 GB of RAM compared to 4 GB of the iPhone XS Max
With WiFi 6, without 5G
We already told you a few days ago about all the advantages of WiFi 6, the new standard for wireless networks. The new iteration of iPhone includes this feature in all three models, including the iPhone 11.
Unfortunately, 5G is not among the network connections supported by the iPhone. We will have to settle for 4G for now.
