Samsung presented the Galaxy A family as premium mid-range smartphones. These included powerful specifications and a relatively contained price. Although the first version of the Galaxy A was not as expected, the truth is that this family has evolved very well. Currently, we have the Samsung Galaxy A5 from 2017 and the Galaxy A3 from 2017 on the market. They share similar design and some features. These two devices are very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7, even, they also share some specifications with high-end devices from Samsung. The 2018 Galaxy A5 and A3 will be presented possibly at the beginning of the year. Little by little, we are getting to know some of its specifications. The last leak has to do with the processor of both.
As we have been able to read in GizmoChina, the next Galaxy A5 and A3 of 2018 will incorporate a 14-nanometer Exynos 7885 processor. This could be replaced in some markets by a 10 nanometer Exynos 9610. The latter would be a little more powerful, it would have a similar performance to the Exynos 8895, a processor that incorporates devices such as some version of the Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. On the other hand, the new Samung processors that will come with the Galaxy A5 and A3 from 2017, will have similar performance to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.
Specifications of the new Exynos for the mid-range
Looking at the specs of both processors, we know that the Exynos 9610 is an eight-core, 64-bit processor. This includes some features, such as MP20 graphics and integrated LTE. On the other hand, the Exynos 7885 would be a bit more basic. It would incorporate two cores at 2.1 Ghz, in addition to a Mali-G71 GPU and integrated LTE modem. Most likely, the Exynos 9610 will stay in the 2018 Galaxy A5, while the Exynos 7885 will stay in the 2018 Galaxy A3. We must remember that, according to the latest rumors, both devices will come with dual cameras. In addition to a screen without frames and Android 7.1.1 out of the box. Most likely, in a matter of weeks we will see more information about the renewal of the Galaxy A family.
