The Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X models plan to update to the latest version of Android 8 Oreo before the end of 2017. Apparently, a user of the Android XDA Developers forum was at a meeting of fans of the brand in New Delhi, in which the brand's team ensured that these two terminals were part of their upgrade plans. This information could have been assumed, above all, in the Honor 8 Pro terminal, as it is a terminal of this year. The Honor 6x, however, hit stores in October 2016, almost a year ago.
The Honor 8 Pro update would reach users at the end of December. The Honor 6X model, however, would take a little longer, but not too long.
Honor 8 Pro Features
This is a 5.7-inch screen terminal with a generous resolution of 1440 x 2560, ideal for consuming multimedia content. An austere design, lacking an infinity screen, with wide frames at the bottom and top but at the same time elegant. It has a high-end processor, the Kirin 960 (the same one that many Huawei models carry, including the Huawei Mate 9), 4/6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
The Honor 8 Pro took to the trend of dual cameras: two 12-megapixel sensors with focal aperture f / 2.2, phase detection autofocus, dual LED flash and video recording up to 2160p at 30 fps. The selfie camera will have 8 megapixels and 1080p video recording. This terminal has a splendid 4,000 mAh battery with which to get left over at the end of the day.
Among other features, we can find fingerprint sensor, NFC connection, fast charge, USB Type C, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and infrared rays that can be used as a remote control. This terminal can be purchased in the Amazon store for 545 euros.
Honor 6X Features
This terminal came into our lives, as we said, last October 2016. And it belongs, directly, to the mid-range of the Honor brand. It can be purchased at the price of 230 euros on Amazon.
A terminal that falls within the standard of the most classic mid-range: 5.5-inch screen and Full HD resolution. Nothing to review, either, with respect to the design: it follows the standards of the brand, that is, elegant and sober with rounded edges. The processor is what we expect in a mid-range: eight-core Kirion 655. As for RAM, two models of 3 and 4 GB and 32 GB of internal storage.
We also have dual camera: 12 and 2 megapixel to create unfocused effects with LED flash and autofocus detection phase. In the selfie camera we find a austere 8 megapixels and 1080p video recording. Among other features, we have a fingerprint sensor on the back of the terminal, microUSB 2.0, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.1. However, no trace of NFC connection so we will not be able to make payments with this phone.
What's new in Android 8 Oreo
On August 21, Google, officially, presented the new version of its operating system, Android 8 Oreo, in which we could see some juicy news:
- Advanced security thanks to Play Protect: system that analyzes the terminal in search of installed applications that could cause damage.
- Extra battery and speed: reduce background application activities and speed up system startup.
- Notice of pending notifications on desktop icons: in addition to the extra options when we hold down an icon, we will now have a notice on it. So that no notification escapes us.
- Improved notifications : suspend certain notifications from the same app and set different levels of importance.
- Picture in Picture: being able to see, for example, a YouTube video in a floating window while using a different application.
So now you know, if you are a possessor of any of these terminals (Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X) very soon you will be able to enjoy all the news about Android 8 Oreo.
