Samsung is currently working on its next flagship. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will hit the market next year and, as we have learned in the last few hours, its mass production would begin in December. At the moment, it is unknown if the South Korean company would announce it at the next Mobile World Congress, which will take place at the end of February. Or, on the contrary, it would show it in a private event months later.
For now, given the remoteness of its presentation, there are many doubts about what Samsung would have in store for us. However, as we can read in GizmoChina, apparently the firm would have definitely aborted plans to introduce the fingerprint reader under the touch panel. This means ensures that the company would place it again in the back, as we have seen this year in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
The fingerprint reader would be on the back again
For some years now, Samsung has been trying to add the in-screen fingerprint scanner to its high-end smartphones. However, due to technical problems it has faced, the company has failed to introduce this feature. As the screens have gained greater prominence, the frames have been reduced and the chassis is increasingly thin, it becomes more difficult to carry out this action. And not just for Samsung. Apple has not been able to achieve it in its new iPhone X, which, by the way, has had to do without Touch ID. However, Samsung will not remove fingerprint readers from its smartphones because there are multiple services and platforms that depend on this technology.
However, although neither the Samsung Galaxy S9 nor the S9 + come with in-screen fingerprint readers, this does not mean that the company is ceasing its efforts. It is said that the next Galaxy Note 9, which will also debut next year, could finally surprise with this feature. For the rest, there is also speculation that the next Galaxy S9 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 6 GB of RAM.
