Today the pre-sale of the iPhone X was opened and, as expected, the success has been tremendous. Within a few minutes the waiting time was already up to 5-6 weeks. That does not mean that users will be without the mobile, simply that they will not receive it on launch day. We are talking about a terminal that has a cost of 1,160 euros in its 64 GB version and 1,330 euros in its 256 GB version. So, we assume, that its future owners will take maximum care of it.
However, it might be a good idea to put a screen protector on it as soon as you receive it. Why? Because we already know the price of your repair. If we have an accident and it breaks, we will have to pay 321 euros for the repair of the iPhone X screen.
Be very careful with the iPhone X screen
The iPhone X screen is one of its great claims. Apple's new mobile features an OLED panel of 5.8 inches with a resolution of 2,436 x 1,125 pixels. A display that includes True Tone technology, wide color gamut (P3) and support for HDR video. In short, a very advanced screen that is not exactly cheap.
In the table above you can see the prices of the repair of the screen of the different iPhone models. The prices are official, taken from Apple's support page. As you can see, the new terminal on the block has already been added to the list. The repair of the iPhone X screen will cost 321.10 euros.
This represents an increase compared to the iPhone 8 Plus screen of no less than 120 euros. The same difference applies to the screen of the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus. Logically, in models with a 4.7-inch screen the difference is greater, since these screens are cheaper.
We are also struck by the cost of repairing "Other damage", which amounts to 611.10 euros. That is, if we have a serious problem we can pay up to half the price of the terminal.
Despite the fact that it is a fairly high price, we must take into account some details. The first, the listed price includes VAT and a shipping fee of 12.10 euros, which will only be charged if the iPhone needs to be shipped.
The second, that if we have contracted an AppleCare plan, the repair will be much cheaper. Although we do not yet have prices in Spain, we have been able to see the difference with prices in the United States. There the price of the screen repair without AppleCare is 280 dollars. With AppleCare the price drops to $ 29. In other words, the difference is very considerable.
It is also fair to comment that the price is not crazy compared to the terminals of the competition. For example, repairing the screen of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has an approximate cost of 310 euros.
So you know, if you plan to get an iPhone X, it would not hurt to get a good screen protector for your mobile.
