Is very close. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is right around the corner. And although we will not see it at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona at the end of February, the device could come to the fore in mid-March, to reach the markets from April. While all that does not happen, in recent weeks a multitude of rumors and speculations related to the technical sheet of the device, as well as its design and possible launch dates have been filtered. Now some images have been published that do not represent the real devices, but that are developed through CAD(computer aided design) based on rumors that have leaked to date. The information has been provided by great sources such as @OnLeaks and @GearIndia. It is not the first time that this has happened and the truth is that the recreations can help us a lot to get an idea of what the new or new flagships will be like that will be released by the Korean firm shortly.
One of the first things that stands out is the fact that the computers have a curved screen that occupies part of the front surface. These images would confirm that, indeed, Samsung would not have the slightest intention of releasing any version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 with a flat screen. Hence, in theory, the name "edge" has disappeared and that the complementary smartphone to the Samsung Galaxy S8 in the end can be called Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
But there is another issue that stands out especially in these images: both phones would have a metallic frame and a shiny front and back surface, which would probably combine the metallic materials with the glass. In any case, it seems that both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus would have practically no side edges and those on the top and bottom would be minimal. There is another important piece of information that has to do with the location of the fingerprint sensor on the back of the computer. But beware, it would not be just below the camera as expected, but to the side.
We have our doubts in this regard, because having to bring our finger so close to the camera could make us dirty the lens more than usual, every time we unlock the phone. We will see what happens in the end.
The images reveal another interesting feature: the location of the stereo speakers, as a speaker grill would appear right on top of the computer in this image. This would enhance the multimedia experience for users. There is other data that suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus could have a larger sensor for the front camera, since in this recreation the opening of the selfie camera is much larger than it would be usual.
Be that as it may, we will not know the rest of the details of the team's technical sheet until well into March, so until then it is likely that many other data will be leaked. Would you like the new Samsung Galaxy S8 to look like this? What improvements are essential for you?
