Xiaomi is preparing a new version of its MIUI 10 system. The latest version of Xiaomi's operating system has already been seen in China in beta form. The version is 9.5.1 and incorporates some very interesting new features. Among them we have a customizable clock widget on the lock screen, improvements in notifications when the mobile is locked and changes to the home screen.
MIUI 10 now allows you to choose the alignment and size of the clock on the lock screen. We can choose between Centered, Aligned to the left or Vertical. It is not a novelty that it is going to "save our lives", but the truth is that it is quite curious and unusual.
Another novelty that we will find in the new version of MIUI 10 has to do with the notifications that we see on the lock screen. Until now we were able to completely hide notifications or show them completely. That is, show their content directly on the lock screen. This is useful, but also somewhat intrusive.
The new function will allow us to review the content of the notification through face unlocking. That is, the text of the notification will be hidden until the facial recognition system recognizes us. It will be then when the details of the notifications will become visible.
What's new on the home screen and children's area
The beta of the new version of MIUI 10 hides other news in its code. For example, it includes some gesture controls that allow the user to perform actions such as launching applications, opening the notification screen or opening a system-wide search.
Long ago, Xiaomi's customization layer included a "Child Mode" that allowed parents to select the applications they wanted to let children run. The rest were blocked by a pattern or a pin code. Now a reference to a “space for children” has been detected. So, although it is not confirmed yet, it seems that Xiaomi could be working on bringing this functionality back in MIUI 10.
