Asus ZenFone 3, Asus ZenFone 3 Delux and Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra. eye! Three new teams that have a lot to say in the Android market. On one hand, we have a model intended to midrange, the Asus ZenFone 3, with a screen of 5.5 inches, a design on glass and camera 16 megapixels. Meanwhile, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe offers us a screen of 5.7 inches, a brand design metal and a camera of no less than 23 megapixels. And we end up with the Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra, with an impressive 6.8-inch screen.. Three terminals that are sure to give a lot to talk about in their respective ranges. We are going to review the technical characteristics of each of the models.
Asus ZenFone 3
The most affordable of the three models presented. The company uses Corning Gorilla Glass 2.5D glass on both the front and the back, along with a metal frame with rounded edges. Personally, the design reminds me a lot of the iPhone 6. At the back we have the camera lens located and, just below, the fingerprint reader. The terminal measures are at 152.59 x 77.38 x 7.69 mm, weighing 155 grams. The Asus ZenFone 3 will arrive in four colors: white, gold, blue and black.
The Asus ZenFone 3 incorporates a screen of 5.5 inches with panel IPS LCD, resolution Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. To move the terminal the company has opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It is an eight-core processor with a speed of 2 GHz and an Adreno 506 graphics processor. This chip comes with 3 or 4 GB of RAM, depending on the model. The internal storage is also variable, being able to choose between 32 or 64 GB. Both expandable bymicroSD card up to 128GB. In terms of autonomy, the Asus ZenFone 3 mounts a 3,000 milliamp battery. In addition, to load, the company has opted for the new USB Type C.
We do not forget the photographic section. The Asus ZenFone 3 mounts a main camera with Sony's IMX298 sensor. The resolution of the camera is 16 megapixels and stays open f / 2.0. The camera offers optical and electronic image stabilization, as well as a laser autofocus system capable of focusing in just 0.03 seconds.
Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe
The Deluxe version of the Asus ZenFone 3 arrives to compete with the greats in the sector. The first noticeable difference is that, compared to the glass used by the mid-range model, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe offers an aluminum body, without visible antennas and, eye, with a thickness of only 4.2 millimeters in its thinnest part.. Of course, in the part of the camera, the thickness increases to 7.5 millimeters, a figure also very low. The other dimensions are 152.59 x 77.38 mm and a weight of 170 grams. The fingerprint reader is located at the rear, just below the camera.
Another of the big differences between the normal version and the Deluxe version is found on the screen. The Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe mounts a larger screen, 5.7 inches, and also uses a Super AMOLED panel instead of the LCD. Yes, the resolution remains at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
As is logical, the brain of the terminal also increases in power. In this model the company has opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. We have eight cores running at 2.15 GHz and an Adreno 530 graphics processor. To accompany this powerful processor we have 6 GB of RAM and three internal storage options: 64, 128 and 256 GB. All of them expandable by microSD card of up to 128 GB. The battery is maintained at 3,000 milliamps, although a fast charging system is included through the USB Type C 3.0 port that includes the terminal. This system promises to achieve60% charge in just 39 minutes.
As for the photographic section, the Asus ZenFone 3 Delux and mounts a sensor Sony IMX318 of no less than 23 megapixels. The rest of the features ( image stabilizer, autofocus, etc. ) are maintained. And for selfies, we have a front camera of 8MP with opening f / 2.0 and a viewing angle of 85 degrees.
Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra
But if we are looking for a really large terminal, we cannot fail to take a look at the largest of the family, the Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra. The larger version of this new family of terminals from Asus maintains the aluminum design, but increases its screen to an impressive 6.8 inches. Of course, it is maintaining a resolution Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Another change in design is that the fingerprint reader happens to be in the front, with a design very similar to that of Samsung terminals.
Something that is striking is that the company has chosen to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, instead of using the same processor as the Deluxe version. It is a chipset with eight cores operating at 1.8 GHz, with an Adreno 510 graphics processor. This chipset is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. It is a powerful set, but a step below the greats. Yes chamber remains 23 megapixel version Deluxe and connector USB Type C 3.0.
What it does improve substantially compared to its little brothers is, how could it be otherwise, on the drums. The Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra mounts a 4,600 milliamp battery and also incorporates the fast charging system of the Deluxe version. Considering the increased screen size, a much larger battery becomes a must.
The screen size of this version makes the Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra perfect for consuming multimedia content. Therefore, the company wanted to highlight that the terminal incorporates a new image processor that is capable of playing content in 4K. In addition, the terminal is compatible with high resolution audio as well as the DTS Headphone: X system, which allows you to achieve virtual 7.1 sound through headphones.
At the moment we do not have official launch dates, but the company has specified the price of the terminals in their most basic versions, at least in dollars. Thus, the Asus ZenFone 3 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage will go on sale with a price of 250 dollars. The Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will be priced at $ 500. The big one in the family, the Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra, will launch with a price tag of $ 480. We will have to wait for the official prices in Europe to see how they translate into euros.
