Table of contents:
How many applications do you have installed on your mobile? According to some studies, a few years ago users consulted an average of 30 applications a month, and about 9 regularly.
This dynamic should not be a problem today as manufacturers offer more and more resources and power in their mobiles. However, it does not seem to be enough to keep up with increasingly demanding users and apps. And yes, even in 2020 we still have the eternal problem: the mobile battery is consumed faster than we want.
If that is also your case, those responsible may be found in the Uswitch study of the 50 applications that consume the most battery on the mobile. Do you want to know what applications may be draining your battery? We'll tell you then.
The 10 apps that consume the most battery
Uswitch examined the 50 most popular apps from the Apple and Google stores to analyze which ones consume the most battery, taking into account a number of criteria, including the number of permissions that each app requests. So take a look at the list and see if you recognize any apps that you have installed on your mobile.
Starting with those that are in the Top Ten we find the same suspects as always. Five of the applications that are in the top 10 belong to Google, and three to the Facebook ecosystem.
And perhaps the most striking thing is that only these 10 apps require users to enable 422 permissions for their operation, including access to contacts, WiFi, calendar, camera, photos, video and location.
- Messenger
- WhatsApp Messenger
- Amazon Alexa
- Gmail
- Uber
- Waze
- Google Chrome
- Youtube music
Surely you have more than 5 of these applications installed on your mobile, so you already know why your mobile battery drains faster than you want.
Applications that drain your mobile battery
Among the top 10 apps on the list we don't find some popular ones like Instagram or TikTok, but don't think you're safe, as they are very close to the top positions. And of course, all those dedicated to streaming, sharing multimedia content or using mobile functions in the background for their operation are among the 50 apps.
Let's take a look at the rest of the list of apps but organized into categories:
