The Android 9 Pie update is taking more time to reach most devices that integrate Android as a base system. Currently, only a few models have Android 9.0 as standard, and there are only a few mobiles that have updated to that version through an OTA. Huawei and Samsung, as the two strongest brands today, are putting all their efforts in updating their smartphone devices. More than two months have passed since the announcement of the ninth version of Android. What is the status of the update to Android 9 Pie for Samsung and Huawei phones? We see it below.
Samsung phones that are going to update to Android 9 Pie
Samsung is one of the few brands that does not get used to giving any information about updating their devices. With Android 9.0 it was not going to be an exception. The aforementioned update not only includes Android's own features such as the new gesture system, the improvement of autonomy management or the change of interface, it will also come with One UI (only compatible mobiles) and Samsung Experience 10.0, the latest version of Samsung's customization layer. As for the update in question, to date there are only three mobiles that have been confirmed by the company. The three models in question are as follows
- Samsung Galaxy Note 9
- Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 +

It should be noted that some of the mid-range models presented during 2017 may not update to Android 9 (Galaxy J5 2017, A5 2017 or J7 2017). Huawei phones that will update to Android 9 Pie
The panorama for Huawei mobiles is quite different. Currently, there are several models that have been confirmed to receive the latest from Android, both from Huawei and Honor (we will talk about the latter on another occasion). We must clarify that although this is the official list of mobiles that will receive Android 9.0, it is likely that some of the older models may delay their update or even run out of it. We are talking about mobiles like the Huawei P8 Lite or the 10 Lite. Also the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro.
