Samsung has not yet confirmed the date on which the official launch of Android 8 will take place for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. However, in the last few hours, an official website of the company has revealed when it could be available. Apparently, the update would take place at the end of this month, so it would only be a few days before Oreo begins to make an appearance in the Samsung phablet.
Android 8 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8
Güncelmiyiz is a legitimate website, managed by Samsung Turkey. The company reportedly used this page to provide details on upcoming firmware updates for Samsung devices. Thanks to this, we have learned that the Galaxy Note 8 could receive Android 8 in just a few days. Everything indicates that the firmware would be in the testing phase right now with an update date planned for March 30.
Aside from revealing the Oreo release date for the Note 8, the website has also ensured that the update would be in the testing phase for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge with a planned release date of April 13. Similar information is also offered for the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 (2018). Everyone would be listed to receive the Oreo update on May 25 of this year. Samsung Turkey has also published that such an update would land on the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab S3 on May 4.
As we mentioned earlier, Güncelmiyiz is a legitimate Samsung website and it works as your local update portal for users in Turkey, so there could be some truth to this information. However, given Samsung's history with firmware updates, it would be wise to wait for more concrete news. It is possible that in the end the established dates do not coincide and there are some delays on the part of the company.
As for the release date of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in other markets, we can expect such an update to be released a few days before or after it is available in Turkey. We will give you more details as soon as we have them.
