It looks like we may soon be able to say goodbye to the notch-on-screen fashion. The notch has lasted just a year in many of the terminals launched by different manufacturers, both high-end and cheaper. The Chinese company ZTE has been one of those that has opted for the notch or notch, but recently we saw how other manufacturers were betting on new ways to include a full screen, without frames and without a notch on the front with very interesting mechanisms, such as a sliding or retractable system to show the front camera. We have already seen this in terminals such as the Oppo Find X or the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. But a new patent from ZTE points to a new concept of full screen.
A ZTE patent shows a design of a mobile that has a speaker directly on the screen. So far we have only seen this with a front camera for selfies, but the company has introduced a headset for calls in the upper area, as you can see in the image. In this way, the terminal could also enjoy a full screen, although it does not show where the front camera would be located. We see that there is no type of frame in the upper and lower area. In addition, it appears that the hole for the earpiece will cover some content, although it is likely to be located just below the notification panel.
A rear camera and fingerprint reader
The patent also reveals the design of the rear with a double camera and fingerprint reader. We do not know if the Chinese company intends to introduce a second screen for selfies or a hole directly for the camera. It is important to remember that this is a patent and may not ultimately be a final device. Even so, it is likely that later we will see devices with a similar design, since Samsung and Huawei are working on this method to forget about the notch. We will see if later this patent, which is undoubtedly very interesting, becomes a reality.
