Android 10 has been around for a while. It was announced this summer for Pixel devices, and these terminals were the first to receive this new version. Quickly terminals such as the OnePlus 7 or the Huawei P30 began to receive this new version, along with the renewed layers of customization from each manufacturer. Sony had not yet ruled on the matter, until now. The Japanese company has confirmed which Android devices will receive the update to Android 10, check here if your Sony Xperia mobile is on the list.
The truth is that there are few Sony models that will receive Android 10. The list may be somewhat limited at first, but it is likely that more devices will be added soon. Sony will carry out two update phases. The first will be during the month of December, and only for these two models.
- Sony Xperia 1.
- Sony Xperia 5.
They are the latest flagship of the company, and hopefully they will be the first to receive Android 10. The update may take time in some markets. For the other devices we will have to wait until the beginning of 2020 onwards. In other words, the most basic models could receive the update throughout the next year. These are the mobiles that will update to Android 10 in 2020.
- Sony Xperia 10.
- Sony Xperia 10 Plus.
- Sony Xperia XZ2.
- Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.
- Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium.
- Sony Xperia XZ3.
What about the rest of the devices?
In the Sony blog there are many users concerned about their Xperia devices, since many of these terminals have only received a major update. There is no news for any variant of the Sony Xperia XZ1, it seems that this model will not receive the latest Android update. There is also no news about the mid-range, like the Xperia XA2, which was launched last year. We will have to wait to see if Sony decides to update these terminals. This does not mean that mobiles stop receiving updates. Sony may continue to release security patches. In any case, and if you want to enjoy the latest version of Android on non-eligible models, you must opt for a custom ROM.
