Antutu, the well-known mobile benchmarks website and application, has just published its monthly list of the most powerful mobiles of 2018 so far. Since no more high-end mobile presentations are expected during this month of December, this will surely be the definitive list. On this occasion, the list excludes Apple models such as the iPhone XS and XS Max. After all, the two devices of the brand have the most powerful processor of today in mobile phones. We refer to the Apple A12 Bionic.
Snapdragon 845 vs Kirin 980 vs Exynos 9810, which processor is more powerful?
The three high-end processors are, how could it be otherwise, those that preside over this list of the ten most powerful mobiles of 2018. While it was first launched at the end of last year, the Kirin 980 and the Exynos 9810 were presented during this year with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus and the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 X. Specifically in February and October, something that we must take into account to be fair in terms of gross power.
As for the list, Antutu has just posted it on his official Chinese page. In August we already made a list of the ten most powerful mobiles of the moment. This time the majority of mobiles are no longer on the aforementioned list.
- Huawei Mate 20 (Kirin 980)
- Huawei Mate 20 X (Kirin 980)
- Huawei Mate 20 Pro (Kirin 980)
- Honor Magic 2 (Kirin 980)
- Xiaomi Black Shark Helo 2 (Snapdragon 845)
- OnePlus 6T (Snapdragon 845)
- Xiaomi Black Shark 1st generation (Snapdragon 845)
- ZTE Nubia X (Snapdragon 845)
- OnePlus 6 (Snapdragon 845)
- Xiaomi Mi 8 (Snapdragon 845)
The winner of this comparison is clear: the Kirin 980. Curious is the less that the Huawei Mate 20 is positioned as the most powerful mobile being the X and the Pro two models more destined for games and heavy tasks with more RAM.
As for the rest of the models, they all have the well-known Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, something that should be noted considering that it is a processor presented in 2017. The difference between the most powerful models with the Snapdragon 845 and the Kirin 980 is about 9,000 points, not negligible in the case of a benchmark that measures the pure power of CPU, GPU and RAM.
Exynos processors belonging to Samsung do not reach, this time, the top positions. Not even the last ones. In this regard, we will have to see if the recently introduced Exynos 9820 has the necessary power to surpass both Qualcomm and Huawei processors and Apple's.
