- Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, an upper-middle-range smartphone with few surprises
- A "pro" version of the Xiaomi Redmi 3?
It is called Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro and it is a renewed version of the Xiaomi Redmi 3. The Chinese technology brand has just officially announced its features, including a RAM memory upgrade, a fingerprint sensor or a fantastic 4,100-milliamp battery with which more than two days of use are promised. This team will hit the market next April in its native country for a price that would be around 125 euros. We tell you all the details.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro, an upper-middle-range smartphone with few surprises
The new Xiaomi model has a 5-inch screen with 720p resolution, which is a bit outdated considering the trends of the new high-end smartphones on the market (almost everyone is already betting on screens with FullHD resolution or higher).
Regarding the design, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro introduces few modifications with respect to the Redmi 3, although a new fingerprint sensor located on the back is appreciated.
Within the technical specifications we find the fundamental difference: the Snapdragon 616 eight-core processor is maintained but the RAM memory is increased from 2 to 3 GB.
The smartphone has 32 GB of internal storage (expandable by external microSD card) and has a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is worth noting the choice of a 4100 mAh battery, and also the possibility of working with two phone numbers (the device is DualSIM).
As for the operating system, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro will feature Android Lollipop and the MIUI 7 user interface developed by Xiaomi.
A "pro" version of the Xiaomi Redmi 3?
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 terminal surprised by offering very interesting features, with an attractive design and a really low price (around 100 euros). The model had 16 GB of internal storage "" expandable by microSD card "" and a 2 GB RAM, which in a way "fell short" considering the performance capabilities of the processor.
In this sense, the new model announced by Xiaomi, the "pro" version, introduces improvements both for the storage "" from 16 to 32 GB "" and for the RAM "" from 2 to 3 GB "", but it retains the same processor and also does not progress in the characteristics of the cameras. Similar to the Redmi 3, the Redmi 3 Pro features a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Nor does it change the battery, which in the previous model was also 4100 mAh.
As for the price, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro will go on sale in the Chinese market on April 6 for 899 yen (around 123 euros to change): a small modification with respect to the Redmi 3 that actually corresponds to the few changes introduced in this "pro" version.
In general, as we have seen by reviewing the characteristics, this new Xiaomi terminal introduces few new features and remains almost at the same level as the Redmi 3. But value for money, of course, it is still a very interesting bet.
For the most demanding users, Xiaomi's high-end smartphone is, for now, the Xiaomi Mi 5.
