Alexa, Siri, Assistant, Xiao Ai or Bixby will be joined as of today by a new virtual assistant that has the Oppo stamp. This is Breeno, and it has similar functions to those of its rivals. It is able to offer all the information that the user needs, even before they ask for it. At the moment, yes, he only understands and speaks Chinese, although we imagine that it is a matter of time before he learns other languages and is seen on Oppo phones in Spain.
Breeno consists of 7 modules: Counseling, Screen Recognition, Awareness, Speed, Voice, Driving, and Space. For example, a user of an Oppo smartphone traveling to the airport will automatically see the assistant suggest information about the boarding. At the same time, it will also display flight data at the bottom of the screen. Therefore, the objective is identical to that of the rest of the virtual assistants. Breeno takes care to provide the best suggestions depending on the place and what the user is doing. For this, it makes use of its artificial intelligence, which is expected to improve over time.
In any case, none of this is new. Siri from Apple or Bixby from Samsung operate in the same way, trying to make the experience with the terminal easier and more comfortable. However, the vice president of Oppo has assured during Breeno's presentation that the assistant will be a key piece in the future of the company's Internet of Things. Basically, you have hinted that Mobile + Breeno will act as a nerve center.
It is clear that virtual assistants will play a major role in this sector in the coming years. In fact, the adoption of these invisible butlers will be the absolute protagonists of smart homes. Throughout this year the demand has increased considerably, including the 25 million connected devices, according to a study by Juniper Research. However, by 2023 it is expected that there will be a total of 275 million of these devices. The research firm ensures that voice assistants will therefore become fundamental tools for managing smart devices within the home.
