New design, new cameras with higher resolution, a large screen and glass throughout. It is the new Huawei P20, the terminal with which the Chinese manufacturer wants to fight in the high range. Today, in its official presentation, we have been able to check all the changes it receives compared to its predecessor. And there are quite a few! The most striking, perhaps, is the incorporation of the notch on the front.
In addition, as usual in the annual renewal of a terminal, we have an improvement in the cameras and the incorporation of a new processor. A processor that comes with an artificial intelligence system that helps with photography. And if this is not enough, the Huawei P20 arrives with an official price of 650 euros, much lower than its more direct rivals.

All screen with a little island
The Huawei P20 has completely changed compared to the Huawei P10. Its design is radically different, with the screen as the main protagonist. But it is not the only change.
The back cover is now glass, with metal frames. The cameras have been placed in a vertical position, in a corner, leaving the rear very clean. Perhaps to show off the new colors in which the Huawei P20 will arrive: black, electric blue, rose gold and twilight (with various tones that change as the light affects them).
Ahead we have three elements that stand out. The first screen, LCD 5.8 - inch panel with Full HD + resolution of 2,244 x 1,080 pixels. Curiously, this has an 18.7: 9 format, something atypical in the world of smartphones.
The second the famous notch or island. It is located in the center and houses the front camera and a small speaker. It is smaller than the "eyebrow" seen on the iPhone X, as it has less technology. At the bottom we have the fingerprint reader.
Smarter cameras
The Huawei P20 has a dual camera system that follows the path set by previous models. But, as is logical, this one has been quite improved. First with new sensors, with a much higher resolution.
So we have a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor with f / 1.8 aperture. The other sensor is RGB, with a resolution of 12 megapixels and an aperture of f / 1.6. As usual, Leica signs this camera system.
As for the camera for selfies, we are talking about a 24 megapixel sensor with f / 2.0 aperture.
In addition to improving the hardware, the Huawei P20 cameras are supported by a powerful artificial intelligence system. Thanks to the NPU processor, the terminal is able to learn from the user and better understand what is happening through the camera.
It also helps with image stabilization in videos and even with night photography, which is capable of collecting long exposure images of up to 8 seconds without the need for a tripod. This technology is also applied to the gallery, where it is possible to make intelligent searches of the contents of the photographs.
Legacy processor
Inside the terminal we also see changes. The Huawei P20 has the Kirin 970 processor, inherited from the Huawei Mate 10. It is a chip manufactured in 10 nanometers with 8 cores. In addition, it is accompanied by the aforementioned NPU or neural processing chip.
Accompanying the processor we have 4 GB of RAM and no less than 128 GB of internal storage. Of course, we will not be able to expand this capacity, since Huawei has decided not to include a microSD card slot.
As for the battery, we have a capacity of 3,400 milliamps, which should give us a good autonomy. It also has fast charging.
The Huawei P20 can now be reserved with an official price of 650 euros.
