The Japanese company Sony continues to finalize the details of the operating system updates that the mobile phones in the Xperia Z range will receive throughout these months. On this occasion the protagonist is the Sony Xperia Z3 (in its version of D6653), which has starred in a certification that has allowed us to know that Sony is working on a new operating system update - intended for this smartphone - that will respond to the denomination of 23.0.A.2.108. Although it is still early to know the news that this update will bring, we must not rule out the possibility that it is a preparation for the arrival of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, which we remember has been confirmed for most of the phones from the Xperia Z range.
But we are not facing the first certified update in which the protagonist is the Sony Xperia Z3, a terminal that arrived in stores a few weeks ago. Just a few days ago another certification appeared in which both the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact featured in an update with the name 23.0.1.A.1.38. Neither the new certified update on this occasion nor the previous update have yet been distributed among users, and today the Sony Xperia Z3 continues to work under version 23.0.A.2.105. We will have to wait for the official distribution of both updates to know the news that they will bring. As usual, both updates will be distributed via OTA, so that to download them we will have to enter the Settings application of our Sony Xperia Z3, click on the " About device " section and enter the " Update of software ".
On the other hand, let us remember that both the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact are two confirmed candidates to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, that is, the update with the most recent version of the Android operating system. And in addition to these two flagships, Sony has also confirmed that it will distribute this same update among the following terminals: Sony Xperia Z, Sony Xperia ZL, Sony Xperia ZR, Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia Z1, Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and Sony Xperia Z2. This update is expected to begin shipping at the beginning of next year 2015, although there is still no specific date for the arrival of the respective operating system updates for each of these smartphones.
We will have to wait a few weeks to start receiving these first operating system updates. Let us remember that some of them may be destined only to specific telephone companies, so there is a possibility that some files only reach a specific group of Sony Xperia Z3 users.
