Owners of a Sony Xperia Z3 are starting to receive a new operating system update around the world. We are talking about an update that seems to respond to the numbering of 23.0.1.A.5.73, thus succeeding the current version of 23.0.A.2.93 under which the Sony Xperia Z3 worked until now. This update is being distributed only via OTA (and not via PC Companion, at least for now), which means that the only way to download it is to carry out the installation process from the mobile itself.
Although this new update does not incorporate any official list of changes, users who have already been able to download and install it assure that it is a small patch aimed at correcting errors. Apparently, this new update fixes the problems that some users had detected when using the touch panel of the screen (especially with the notification bar) and the problems of starting the Camera application (now this application seems to open much faster).
In general terms, the update that the Sony Xperia Z3 is currently receiving seems to be aimed at improving terminal performance. We will have to wait a few days to learn more about the changes that this new update with number 23.0.1.A.5.73 implies for users.
To download this new update (and any other that Sony distributes in the future) from the Sony Xperia Z3, follow these steps:
- We enter the Settings application of our Sony Xperia Z3. This application is represented by the icon of two tools.
- Once inside the application, we slide the screen towards the end and enter the " About the device " section.
- Next, within the section that we have just accessed, click on the option " Software updates ".
- By clicking on this section, a screen will open where we will see all the applications available for our mobile. Entering the " System " tab we will see the operating system updates, so in the event that we see a new version we will simply have to follow the steps indicated on the screen to download and install the file.
Beyond these small updates, the novelty that all owners of any mobile in the Xperia Z range will really be waiting for is the arrival of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Sony has confirmed that it will update all the mobile phones in the Xperia range to Lollipop, and although videos have already appeared on the network in which you can see the Android version 5.0 Lollipop running on a Sony Xperia Z3, users will still have to wait until next year 2015 to start receiving this update.
