Although at the moment only users in Norway, Sweden and Denmark have begun to receive the update, its distribution in the rest of the world should not wait for more than a few days.
The Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update of the Sony Xperia Z2 has begun to be distributed via OTA, which means that the first users to receive this new version of the Android operating system can download the update directly from their mobile phones by entering the application of Settings, entering the " About phone " section and clicking on the " Software updates " option.
In addition to the Sony Xperia Z2, owners of the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet (in its WiFi and LTE variants) will also find themselves in the next few hours with the Android 5.0.2 update. In the case of these tablets, the update also responds to the numbering of 23.1.A.0.690, and is intended for the following versions: SGP611 , SGP612 , SGP621 in the case of the Z3 Tablet Compact and SGP511 and SGP521 in the case of the Z2 Tablet.
This new Lollipop update for the Sony Xperia Z2 brings with it the latest version of the Android operating system, which translates into numerous bug fixes compared to the first versions of Android 5.0. Regarding specific news, users who update their Sony Xperia Z2 to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop will find a completely renewed interface, new options related to notifications, a new user profiles mode or an option to move applications to external microSD memory card, among other changes. In fact, much of these new features are identical to those brought by the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Sony Xperia Z3.
Sony has not commented on the availability of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update in the rest of the world. Presumably, this update will reach more countries in Europe in the coming days. As regards the rest of the devices in the Xperia Z range that Sony has promised to update to Lollipop, at the moment there is no definitive date for the distribution of each of the remaining updates.
